This is a Minecraft server being made from scratch by a developer who is building everything before it goes public.
The big idea is that it is not just one game mode. The community gets to decide what gets added and people can suggest ideas through a custom suggestions system. If the community votes for something then it gets added.
Right now they are recruiting builders to help shape the world and give it personality. Builders get lots of creative freedom and access to a huge custom head collection.
They also want staff who like to brainstorm features and help wherever they can. There are also management and support roles for people who can keep the team organized and positive. If you join early you get a real say in what the server becomes.

I found a small vanilla plus Minecraft server that is trying to stay close to normal Minecraft. It adds some extra stuff like furniture and new crafting recipes like new types of armor. There are also some new items but it does not go too wild.
It is not a full modpack. You are supposed to drag the mods from a zip into your mods folder in whatever loader setup you use.
The rules are simple. No cheating or hacking at all. That includes hacked clients and exploits and dupes and xray and stuff like that. But griefing raiding stealing and killing are allowed so it can get messy if you are not careful.

Rattata SMP is a mature 16+ survival server that tries to stay as close to vanilla as possible. It runs on Paper and it supports both Java and Bedrock players.
The rules are simple and it is mostly just do not grief and use common sense. It is the kind of place where you can play with others and slowly build a real community.
There is no teleporting and there are no changed loot tables or custom world generation. The server is on hard difficulty and it uses 33 percent player sleep. It is whitelist only and there is a live map.

So this is Electron SMP and it is a semi vanilla and semi anarchy world where players really fight over everything.
People here battle for territory and for resources. You see groups form alliances and then backstab each other later. It is very competitive and every fight feels like it matters a lot.
The server is all about PvP and strategy. Players try to outbuild each other and outplay each other so they can stay on top. There is a lot of player politics and drama between different groups.
The community feels pretty tight knit and active. It looks like a bunch of friends who also like to fight each other. There is not really a big spawn area so you just go out explore and build wherever you want.
