I found Oblivion SMP and it is starting a modded Season 2. It is a Java only server and they want to build a healthy fun community while still keeping things competitive.
You have to join their Discord and apply to get whitelisted. After you get accepted you can download their custom mod pack and the server info gets shared in Discord before launch.
They added quality of life mods plus new blocks weapons enchants bosses biomes and even a new dimension. PvP is allowed but only in designated areas and you need to read the rules in Discord to understand it.
