This server is called Bleeding Heart SMP and it is hardcore for real. You only get one life and if you die you go into limbo. The only way back is if another player uses your actual player head with a special shrine and rare items to revive you. So every death really matters and people get nervous when they fight or explore.
The server feels close to vanilla and it runs on Fabric with a light setup. Combat is more normal because there is no crystal pvp so fights are easier to see and understand. There is also only one mace in the whole world at once so whoever holds it becomes part of the server story.
You can go super far out and the real Farlands actually generate at over twelve million blocks and players can reach them. Redstone is allowed and vanilla so people can build crazy machines and even huge cannons if they want.
Most of the addons are made by the server team so they can fix bugs fast. The community is pretty small and committed and players log in because they want to see what others did or what new drama is going on. It is not a hand holding server. The world keeps going even when you are offline and the cool part is how stories and alliances and betrayals just happen naturally.
