WhimsyWillow is a small community focused SMP that is on Season 3 and this time it is modded. The mod pack was picked by the community so it feels like everyone had a say.
There is a ton to explore with over 100 biomes using Biomes O Plenty and Terratonic plus extra structures around the world. The server also has a live world map so you can look around and plan where you want to go.
The Create mod is a big part of the vibe so you can build machines and make your own setups as long as it is reasonable. There are also more ores to make progression feel more worth it with new tools and weapons.
Spawn is kept nice and there is a shop district with custom player shops that can sell whatever they want. The staff and community want suggestions a lot and they try to run events sometimes to keep things active.
The server uses a whitelist and joining is done with a short application.

I found a decently heavy modded Minecraft server called Dopecraft 420 and it is looking for more players. The owner goes by Chase and most people call him Coop and he seems friendly.
The server runs Forge 1.20.1 and the modpack leans hard on big mods like Warium, Valkyrien Skies, Create, Mekanism, and Biomes O Plenty plus a lot more.
Anyone can join and there is optional creative building too but it is still a work in progress and they want to improve it over time. Luminary Falls is a cozy survival SMP made for adults who want a long term world and a friendly place to play. It is whitelist only and 18+ and it is meant to feel close to vanilla while still being smoother to play.
The server runs Minecraft 1.21.11 on Java and it also has Bedrock crossplay so more people can join. It allows client mods that do not give advantages like Litematica Xaero’s Sodium and Dynamic Lights.
The big thing is it has resource worlds so the main world does not need to reset. That means your builds can stay for years. The community is active with players from around the world and there are usually people online at all hours.
Staff has a lot of combined experience and the vibe is uplifting and LGBTQ+ friendly. There are quality of life plugins and datapacks but no pay to win stuff and no unfair advantages.
