Realm of Aureus is a long term SMP style server that wants to feel like a home instead of a quick realm. It mixes normal open world survival with a heavy RPG vibe so it feels like you are in a story while you build your base and explore.
The server has a lot of custom content. There are unique bosses and dungeons you can fight through and you can use the terrain and boss weaknesses to win. There are over 500 custom items armors tools skills enchantments creatures and NPCs that are all made by the server team.
The world has a border that grows by 1000 blocks every Age so there is always new land to explore and build on. Your builds are protected by an easy territory system and you can ally with other players and form towns and even bigger nations.
There are more than 400 special achievements and some are easy and some are really hard. They can give cool rewards like rare gear unique chat titles or fame for slaying powerful bosses. There are leaderboards so players can compete and show who is the best.

This is a really old school vanilla survival server that has been around since April 1st 2019. The main world has never been reset so everything players build and do stays and the world has a long history to explore.
The gameplay is straight up survival with no land claims and no teleport commands like tpa or home. There is no currency stuff and no factions plugins that change the normal game. PvP is allowed and griefing is also allowed so you have to be careful who you trust and where you build.
The server runs stable and they try to optimize performance without changing how Minecraft normally feels. There is an anticheat but it is meant to stay out of the way and just stop obvious exploits so legit players can play fair.

This server is called UneasyVanilla and it is a semi anarchy style vanilla survival server. It runs a really old world that has been going for over 4 years so the map feels used and lived in. It tries to stay close to the original Minecraft vision so it does not feel super modded or fake.
When you first join you spawn in a crazy mess of lavacasts and grief. Spawn is totally wrecked on purpose so it feels like you dropped into the middle of chaos. You have to escape that maze and then you can wander off and start building bases or just explore however you want.

This server is a vanilla style survival world that starts you in the middle of an ocean. When you join you have to swim or use a boat to reach land and then you can start your own journey.
The world is really old and was first made in 2011 so you can find super old terrain mixed with newer areas and a lot of ruins if you explore far enough. It feels like digging through Minecraft history while still finding fresh places to build.
The server uses a few simple datapacks that give you commands like trigger home and trigger spawn and you can set up to 10 homes per player. Other than that it plays like normal Minecraft with no changes to gameplay or terrain generation. Player and mob heads can sometimes drop in fights which is cool for trophies.
The server always runs the latest Minecraft snapshot so you can try new features early before they are on most other servers.
There are only two rules. Treat other players with respect and do not try to crash the server on purpose. Almost everything else is allowed. Griefing is allowed and hacked clients are allowed so you need to be smart about where you build and who you trust.

BlockedInMC is a new towny survival server that just opened and it already feels pretty active. You can create your own town with a command and claim land so your stuff is safer. If you do not want to lead a town you can just join someone else and help them grow their place.
The server lets you play how you want. You can work together with others and build up big towns or go solo and try to fight everyone as an underdog and climb the ranks. There is teleport stuff like random tp and tpa so it is easier to get around the world and meet other players.
There are custom structures and custom biomes you can find while exploring so it does not feel like a plain default world. There is also no whitelist so you can join right away and start playing without waiting.
