Pixel Springs is a small modded SMP that feels really cozy and calm. It runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 and is made for builders collectors farmers and chill players who want a world that does not keep resetting.
The server has a ton of building and decoration mods so bases look really detailed and unique. There are also lots of farming and cooking mods so you can grow food cook meals and even earn in game currency for completing meals. If you like magic there are magic mods you can learn and use too.
Collectors have a custom FTB Quests system that gives goals and rewards while you gather items. The quests also help you learn new mods which is nice if you are still figuring them out.
There is an in game currency system where you earn coins from quests and daily rewards. Players use those coins to start shops and there is a shopping district where everyone builds their own store. There is also a separate resource world that resets sometimes so the main world can stay pretty and long term.
The community feels small friendly and welcoming and the admins are active and try to help and keep improving the server. The server is still pretty new and they plan to keep it running for a long time so you can actually settle down and not worry about losing your progress. They also run frequent backups because the world is important to them.

Shadowburn SMP is a small modded server that runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 using forge. When I joined it felt like a survival world that just exploded with new stuff.
There are over 100 mods and they add a lot. There are new decorations so bases can look really cool. There are magic things to mess with and a bunch of new food to try. Weapons and armor are not just the normal diamond and netherite any more.
You can fight dragons and other strong mobs. You can focus on building a base and making it look awesome. Or you can just run around and experiment with magic and all the new gear. It feels like there is always something different to do.
The owners want people to hang out together and talk. They ask everyone to join their discord because that is where they post updates like when the server is down or when they add new mods. It makes the server feel more organized and easier to keep up with.

Dawnpeak is a new SMP survival server that just opened and the world still feels fresh and untouched. It uses hard difficulty so the game actually feels dangerous and every mistake can really hurt.
The server tries to make survival feel like a story. There is slow and meaningful progression so every upgrade feels like you actually earned it instead of rushing to end game. There are custom mobs and big boss battles that are way more intense than normal vanilla fights.
You can talk with other players using proximity voice chat so you only hear people who are near you. It makes random meetings and team ups feel really cool and also kind of scary.
There are lots of custom craftable items like weapons gear tools blocks furniture and decorations that you discover through their own recipes. The world is built for exploration with custom structures hidden regions mysterious dungeons and special encounters if you like to wander.
The server also has Towny and an economy. You can start a town or clan make allies or rivals trade with people or end up in big battles between groups. There is no pay to win at all so you cannot buy kits or unfair boosts and everyone has to earn their power by actually playing.

Rave SMP is a very new Minecraft survival server so everyone starts together and no one is super ahead.
It is kind of on the anarchy side so war and chaos can happen but you can also play peaceful if you want. The world has a 15k by 15k overworld border and there is a good seed so there is a lot to explore and build in.
The server runs 24 7 on a host in Singapore. It has some plugins and one of the main ones is Simple Voice Chat so you can use proximity voice and talk to people who are near you in game. There are fun plugins and at least one or two events every month. Some events are made by admins and some can be made by players.
The community is a Filipino based group and it is open to all ages and people who can play a lot during the day. They are looking for active players who like building exploring and also fighting if that is your style. They want people who care about the community and like collaborating.

Darktopia is a modded Minecraft Bedrock SMP that feels really chill and friendly. It is a small survival world that uses helpful and cool looking addons so normal gameplay feels a lot more fun.
The survival system is reworked so it feels more like Terraria with progression and new content. There are mazes special structures artifacts and other stuff to explore so it is not just plain vanilla. You can also get into Jerry's Colonies where you join a civilization or make your own so players can build up towns and communities together.
There is a cooking addon that adds new foods and a real cooking system so farms and kitchens actually matter. There is also furniture that still looks vanilla so people who like building and decorating can make nice houses and bases.

This is a survival style SMP world that is still being built and changed a lot. The owner has plans for more towns and other places that are good for players to hang out in. You can see from the screenshots that the world already has some cool builds and it keeps getting new stuff.
The server has a few mods but nothing too crazy. It does not try to be super intense or super complicated. It is more like a calm place where you can play survival and explore and help the world grow over time.

This server is building a big city called Jothon and that part is already done.
Now they are working on the next area which is a pirate cove. It is planned to have docks shops and a volcano. It is also the home of a pirate king who is a bad guy but still kind of cool.

This server is called CaveMC and it is on Season 2. It is a semi anarchy enhanced vanilla survival server but the wild part is that the whole overworld is underground. There is no normal surface so everything is inside a huge cave world.
The caves are made with custom world generation by real Minecraft developers. There are underground biomes resources and structures so you explore and survive in a giant cave only world. It looks really different and survival feels way more brutal.
Only the most resourceful players will last long here. You have to deal with other players and the cave environment at the same time. It is semi anarchy so there is a lot of freedom and it can get pretty intense.
They are also opening a new place called the Wasteland Dimension. It is a big new dimension with its own custom generated map. There you can find brand new powerful gear to fight over and huge mega structures that hide secrets and resources.
The Wasteland has its own special currency and a new player driven economy so trading and money stuff is different there. There is a new spawn made for this dimension too so it feels like a fresh challenge when you join.
Overall this server is about tough cave survival exploring custom areas and fighting for loot in a semi anarchy world that is always underground.

This is a modded ATM8 SMP with a small but active group of players. When I joined it felt like everyone actually talks and hangs out a lot.
The server is all about building towns and shared places instead of everyone hiding in solo bases. People work on roads and infrastructure and big community builds so the world feels connected and kind of civilized.
The gameplay is focused on long term modded progression with tech and automation and exploration. It is not a quick grind and quit server. You are supposed to stick around and slowly build up your stuff with everyone.

This server is called Maboro Light and it is a vanilla style SMP with a big world that is 20k by 20k blocks. It runs on Minecraft version 1.21.11 so it is pretty up to date.
The gameplay is mostly pure survival but there are some small plugins and datapacks that make it feel nicer. There is proximity chat so you can talk to people only when you are close to them in game. There is also a plugin to protect your builds so random players cannot just break your stuff.
For extra fun there are datapacks where all mobs drop their heads and players also drop their heads when they die. So you can collect heads and make little trophy rooms or just mess around with them.
The community is Arabic but they welcome anyone who is 18 or older. It feels like a chill adult server where people want to explore and build and just hang out in survival without crazy mods.
