Frontline Combat is a modded team based pvp server with a squad and battlefield style feel.
I see regular events happening every week and they try to make each one better each time.
They also make their own custom mods and content and they are trying to grow the player base.

I found a semi vanilla PvP server that is inspired by StrengthSMP. The big idea is that you get a strength boost when you kill people so fights keep getting crazier.
If you drop all the way to -10 strength you get eliminated and banned. There is also a revive beacon so other players can bring you back and unban you.
It has a custom spawn and a custom nether portal setup. The worldborder is huge at 100k by 100k. They also say they can run fun events when there are enough players and the launch is planned for 30.01 if the player count is high enough.
