Waychest is a PvE survival server that feels like you start alone even though you are in one huge shared world. You can make a Journey for you and your friends and it gives you your own random spawn point and your own progress path.
As you explore you start finding special Waychests and other custom items and blocks. They are basically clues left behind that can lead you to places other players built and sometimes even to meeting them for real.
There is also a Waychest Flight thing where you craft an Elytra and it starts a flying challenge with rings. If you finish it you can end up at a Waychest made by a stranger.
Fast travel exists too but you have to discover the warp spots first. The server runs on Java 1.21.11 and works with a vanilla client.

You begin in your own Journey with a random spawn point and you can bring friends. Each Journey has its own spawn and its own progress so it feels like a private Realm but it still connects to everyone else out there.
As you explore you start finding special Waychests and other custom stuff that points you toward places people have been. You can even craft and place your own Waychests later so future Journeys can discover your builds.
There is also a Waychest Flight minigame where you craft an Elytra then fly through rings and it leads you to a Waychest made by a stranger. Fast travel exists too but you have to discover a warp spot first to unlock it.
