This is a modded Java server that tries to feel like real world history but in Minecraft. The server is called Geopol Reforged and it is on version 1.18.2. It is based on older Geopol servers so it is kind of a reboot of a classic.
The world uses an Earth map and the whole thing is about nations and politics and wars. Players make their own nations and run their own economy. You can trade build and plan together and then fight other groups in wars. There is PvP and warfare but random griefing that is not allowed by the rules is not ok.
There are guns but they are toned back so it is not just instant kills everywhere. The server has netherite gear and a grace period to help people get started. There are also server wide events and server lore so it feels like a long story that everyone is part of.
The server is 16 and older so the community is meant to be more mature. Roleplay is welcome but not forced so you can play serious or chill. They are also looking for admins so staff is still growing.

AvalonEarth is a cool earth SMP server with a 1 to 500 scale world map so there is a lot of space to explore and make your own nation. It uses the Towny plugin so towns and nations are a big part of how you play.
Anyone can start a nation because the server gives you starter money. You do not need to grind for hours or meet some weird player requirement just to claim land. You can jump in and begin your own country pretty fast.
The server has already had one season that made a strong community. Now it is on the second season and a bunch of new players are joining so it feels active and alive.
There are a lot of wars and conflicts if you like fighting and strategy. But if you are not into pvp you can also live more peaceful and stay away from most wars.
You make money mainly by doing jobs and by farming and fishing. The server owner says more ways to make money are going to be added soon.

NationMC is an Earth SMP where the whole world is a custom 1 to 500 scale map. You pick a real world location and start building a town and then turn it into a nation with other players.
The server runs Towny so you claim land and protect your builds while you expand. Towns can team up into nations and try to control more of the map. It feels like you are slowly writing your own history and carving out a spot on the globe.
There are custom features like skills quests custom enchants vehicles casino games and a full economy with auction house and chest shops. You can use player warps random teleports and stackable spawners so the world stays active and not boring.
Both Java and Bedrock players can join so it is easy to play with friends on any device. The staff says they are friendly and there is anticheat and good performance so it feels pretty polished and smooth to play on.

This server is a huge roleplay world based on Planet Earth. The map is a blank Earth in about 1 to 1250 scale and players get to build the story themselves. You can make real towns or totally made up nations and try to control your land.
The server uses Towny so you can claim land and build cities. There are plugins like Slimefun Dynmap Movecraft Brewery and SiegeWar that make the game feel way more advanced. You can build crazy machines fly ships fight big wars and even mess with drinks and brewing.
Players can go to war and try to become famous generals or you can stay peaceful and run a merchant city. The whole point is to create your own legacy on this Earth map. The server has been around for a long time and is now in its 11th reset.

Creative Central is a work in progress Minecraft network that is built around almost ten years of lore and worldbuilding. It feels like everything connects into one big canon story that different people helped create.
There are two main game modes right now. On CC Plots you get a huge 512 by 512 creative plot with free WorldEdit so you can really go wild with big builds. You can also use headdatabase and armorstand tools without paying extra so you can decorate your builds and make custom armor stands and details.
On CC Earth you play on a 1 to 500 scale Earth map using Towny. You can start a town claim land and use the server economy to keep your settlement running. You can form nations with friends or new players and team up under the same banner to grow your territory. PvP does exist in some parts of the world but it is not the main thing and does not get in the way of normal gameplay or progression.
The server is strictly not pay to win and does not push microtransactions. There is only a single sponsor rank that costs ten dollars and it just gives cosmetic perks to people who want to support the server.
Creative Central is also part of something called Project Everything which is a group of different worldbuilding stories and lore collections that all fit into the same canon universe.
