This is a Minecraft server that is part of a new hosting platform called ChunkPod. It is in beta so it is still being worked on but you can already make servers and test stuff.
Right now you can create your own server and upload plugins. There is a console so you can see logs and send commands to your server. It feels like a place for people who want to try hosting and give feedback while it is still early.

This is a new survival SMP called LavaNetwork. It is in beta and feels pretty calm and simple. The world is still fresh and there is not a lot built yet.
The server is mostly vanilla and has land claiming so people can protect their builds. It seems like the community is friendly and likes to chill and talk.

I found this new Minecraft SMP called Gistcraft and it is just starting from day one so everyone is kind of fresh and equal.
The server is semi vanilla so it feels like normal Minecraft but with some extra stuff. There are teams so you do not have to play alone if you do not want to. There is an economy and auctions so players can trade and sell items instead of just grinding alone.
They also use proximity chat so you can talk in voice when people are near you in game. It supports different platforms so more people can join and play together. There are events and some unique plugins like player head drops that make pvp and collecting stuff more fun.

EvoCraft Season II is a brand new server that is still being built. There is not a lot to show yet but it already works and can handle a bunch of players at once.
The server is running on version 1.8.8 right now. It might update after a couple weeks or maybe a month. While it is still a work in progress there are some issues here and there but nothing that stops normal play.
This is a whitelist only server. You have to fill out an application before you can join. If you follow the rules and respect the whitelist you can have a really good time on here.
It feels like the kind of place that will grow slowly with a small group of players who actually want to play and not cause problems.

I found this Minecraft network that is pretty new and still in early launch. It is called NovaCraft Network and it focuses on fair progression and actually listening to players. It does not feel pay to win and it does not rely on weird gimmicks.
The main gamemode right now is Skyblock. It has balanced progression and a player driven economy. It seems made for both casual players who just want to chill and also for competitive players who like to grind and race ahead.
There is also BedWars with 2v2 and 4v4 maps so it is good for small groups and friends who want quick pvp games. For people who like classic Minecraft there is a Survival world on hard difficulty with normal gameplay and nothing super crazy added on top.
The owners say they focus on fair progression active development and community feedback that actually matters. They are asking for players who want to help shape the server from the ground up so it feels like they really want ideas and suggestions.

This is a new Minecraft server based on a custom storyline. You do not grind random mobs just to get stronger. You earn grades by going through the story and proving your skill.
The server has clans you can join. You can pick from Kamo Zenin or Gojo. Each clan has its own passive abilities and its own clan household. You can even challenge for Clan Head and if you win you get extra benefits and more power inside the clan.

Ironbark SMP is a semi vanilla survival server based in OCE and it is in early access right now. The server wants to feel like a modern survival world with high tension and real progression and no pay to win stuff at all.
It uses mcMMO and custom deathbans so every death matters a lot. Your first deathban starts at one hour and it doubles every time you die and there is a monthly global reset. If you manage to survive long enough the next increase can get cut in half so staying alive is actually a big deal.
There is a food and survival rework too. Mushroom stew heals more hearts and cake gives absorption hearts for a while plus resistance and then it has a cooldown. Totems are disabled so you cannot just spam totems to stay alive.
Ranks are based only on playtime and they are purely cosmetic. There are no gameplay advantages from ranks so everyone has the same chance to survive. The server is looking for more mature players who like a challenge and who enjoy working together and playing smart instead of just rushing everything.
