The Tavern SMP is a near vanilla survival server on version 1.21.11. It feels like normal Minecraft but with some quality of life and cosmetic plugins to make stuff smoother.
It runs on a greylist so anyone can join. You just link your discord account in game and it is automated so there is no long whitelist wait.
Players use a nether roof travel hub and there is no world border so far. TNT dupers are allowed and redstone contraptions are fine as long as they do not cause noticeable lag.
The server does not do forced resets. World changes and resets only happen if the community votes for it. There are occasional community projects and events and the overall vibe is laid back and relaxed.
It also has proximity voice chat plus a live web map and a statistics site. Extra fun features include mob head drops from charged creepers plus invisible item frames using shears and moveable armor stands by naming a book to statues. Client side mods like performance mods minimaps waypoints and building helpers like litematica are allowed but no printer.

TrootheSMP is a friendly survival SMP that supports cross play. It runs in seasons and Season 5 is happening right now. The seasons are made to last long enough so people can actually build stuff make progress and set up shops without getting wiped all the time.
It is not an 18 plus server but everyone is expected to act mature and respectful. The server keeps the survival feel but adds a small set of upgrades that help with building and daily play.
There is Discord integration with account linking plus updates and community tools. The economy is item based and players make physical shops. There are land claims so you can build without worrying about grief. There are also quality of life features like armored Elytra and villager leashes. Simple Voice Chat is supported too.
