I found this hobby run survival server that feels like normal Minecraft but it has way more items and the mechanics are changed so survival gets spicy.
It runs on the latest Java version and it uses an auto download resource pack so you do not have to mess with extra clicks.
PvP is on and griefing is allowed and there are no land claims so it is full freedom with consequences. The vibe is also no pay to win and not a staff ruled server.
There is basically one rule which is no hacks. They also do world resets when new content gets added and dimensions get refreshed. Your builds get wiped but your inventory and ender chest carry over and you get a warning before it happens.
