Rosebloom SMP is a friendly seasonal survival server with Java and Bedrock crossplay. It is made to feel chill and welcoming and the staff team focuses a lot on keeping it a safe space for players.
Season 3 starts on March 6th and the season begins in the Nether. The server pushes everyone to work together to unlock the Overworld and then start exploring the main world. There are also server wide events with in game prizes and some rewards can be valuable items and custom items.
It has custom biomes plus custom food and crops and quality of life plugins. There is a rewards system and seasons that are not super long. Minecraft chat is linked with Discord through a bot so people can talk across both.
They want you to play how you like like building exploring mining farming redstone or just hanging out. There are still some limits and rules so it does not turn into a mess. Version is 1.21.10.

CaveMC is a semi anarchy survival server with an enhanced vanilla feel and it is all underground. The overworld has no surface at all so you live in a huge cave world with biomes resources and structures. It is made with custom world generation built by real Minecraft developers.
Season 2 is live so it is a fresh start and the survival is meant to be brutal. You basically have to be smart and tough to last.
There is also a big expansion called the Wasteland Dimension. It adds exclusive gear mega structures to explore and mysteries to figure out. It also brings a unique currency so players can trade and build a new economy. There is a new spawn too and the dimension uses a custom generated map with special features.

This is a long term survival world where what happens actually matters. The map is persistent so builds can get conquered or lost and the history sticks around. It is not a minigame thing and it is not meant to wipe all the time.
The world uses custom made terrain with handcrafted regions and structures. Travel routes are intentional so exploring feels more like a real place and less like random chaos.
Healing is slower like UHC style. You have to plan for fights and trips and use downtime instead of just instantly healing forever.
There are custom relics getting added across the map with a tracking system to hunt them down. Some can be hidden underground or locked in bases or even carried by other players.
Enchanting is not easy and max gear is not expected. Fights are supposed to feel conclusive so skill and preparation matter more than just stacked items.

I found a new survival SMP that started about 4 days ago. It is a vanilla style world but it uses a custom survival map with custom world generation so exploring feels different.
They run on Paper with a few extra plugins like ImageFrame GSit Brewery and voice chat plus some more. It has around 30 people on the whitelist right now so it feels like a real group server and not a huge random crowd.

ContinuumSMP is a semi vanilla survival server that feels like hardmode chaos but it still tries to run smooth. It is built for players who want lots of freedom and barely any rules. The world is persistent and it does not reset.
It runs on Java 1.21+ and it also supports Bedrock. The gameplay is hardmode survival with an anarchy style. You can build raid fight and explore without being boxed in.
The server uses very light plugins with anti cheat plus entity and packet protections. It also uses Folia so big farms lots of mobs and PvP are meant to be handled better.
There is custom vanilla terrain generation and mobs spawn closer and act more aggressive. Nether roof access is disabled to help reduce lag. Ender pearls are persistent so you keep your pearls after death or logout.
The rules are mostly about not crashing the server and not being hateful. Harassment and threats are not allowed and chat spam is not allowed. Duping and travel exploits are allowed if they do not hurt performance.

Mythvale is a new Java server that is launching soon and it is all about town wars that actually have structure.
I found that it is not trying to be random raiding chaos. Wars follow rules and you do not lose your land forever. Towns fight for money influence and dominance through SiegeWar. It also says there is no offline land loss so builders are not punished for having a life.
The map is custom built terrain and the world is meant to be permanent. They plan to expand later by adding new continents over time.
It has Towny claiming SiegeWar with scheduled and open conflicts a player driven shop economy balanced progression and vanilla combat with a simple beast kit. They are also looking for founding towns war leaders staff members and long term players from day one.

ColonyMC is an open beta factions SMP where the world is meant to last. It is more about territory and strategy than quick resets. The vibe is progression and faction politics with players helping shape what comes next.
It skips the instant god kit style and it does not lean on crate spam to run the economy. The server is being built slow on purpose so balance can be adjusted during beta.
There is a massive custom terrain map made for wars with choke points and hidden areas. Dynmap is on so factions can scout and plan.
It already has a first custom boss and a first custom enchant and more are planned based on feedback. Simple Voice Chat is supported and Eaglercraft can join too. ViaVersion is enabled and 1.21.10 is recommended.
