This is a survival server that is running a short Season 0 to test stuff instead of pretending to be perfect from day one.
The owner is trying to see what actually keeps players interested for more than a few weeks. So the whole idea is to break things make stories and figure out what works long term.
They are using a custom plugin that changes how players interact and it is still being worked on. Player heads drop when you die so deaths feel more meaningful. There are backpacks but they are tuned so you still feel risk and you cannot just carry everything for free. There is also CoreProtect to stop griefing.
The world will fully reset after Season 0 so your progress does not carry over but your ideas and feedback do. It is meant for a small group around 20 to 30 Java players who actually want to help test instead of just rushing to fill slots.

Waychest is a Minecraft world that feels like lots of little worlds linked together. When you join you start your own Journey with your friends. It looks like you are alone on your own server but actually everyone is in the same huge survival world.
The server is PvE and semi vanilla. It uses the normal Java 1.21.11 client but has custom stuff built just for this place. The focus is on exploring and building and slowly finding out that other people have been here before you.
As you travel you find special chests called Waychests. They give rewards and also point you toward other Journeys and builds people left behind. Later you can make your own Waychests so new players can discover your base too.
There is a flying minigame where you craft an Elytra and then fly through rings in the world. If you do it right it leads you to a Waychest from another player. There are also warps you can use for fast travel but you have to discover each warp point first before you can use it.
Overall it feels like a mix of a public server and a private realm. You get space to play with just your group but you can still bump into other players or their stuff while exploring the same big world.

One big feature is the system of Lords. To become a Lord you have to actually build a real medieval style castle or fortress in the overworld. It needs a throne room a lord bedroom a dungeon for prisons and a proper gate. The staff has to approve it so it is not just a tiny box.
When you become a Lord you gain special powers. You can protect the land around your stronghold using a lodestone so only you and the people you trust can build there. You can also make big automatic 5×5 gates using a special plugin but only Lords can build these. Being a Lord basically means you control your territory and how people live under your rule.
The whole server is about law and order created by players not by commands. It is a rough and serious world for people who like politics conflict and building their own kingdom.

EmberSteal SMP is a multiplayer world that mixes ideas from lifesteal and other power based servers into one place. It is all about fighting and stealing and keeping your progress safe.
When you kill another player you have an equal chance to steal one of their hearts or one of their effect bundles. There is also a third special mechanic that is planned but not shown yet. Everything drops as embers so your gains are never fully safe.
You can craft effect bundles yourself and stack them. If you eat the same bundle again it upgrades from level 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3. All of this is done with custom datapack effects so it feels fresh.
The goal is to make progression feel fast and dynamic but still balanced because other players can steal what you worked for. It is planned for Java and maybe Bedrock and they use simple voice chat so fights and team ups feel more real.
The server is still being worked on and they want people who are down to join or help test it once it is ready probably around mid December.

Termina is a Towny server where players build towns and nations and still get real pvp action without all the toxic anarchy drama.
The main thing I noticed is the Towny war system. You can declare war on other towns and raid them for loot. Explosions and griefing get rolled back after the war ends so your builds do not stay ruined forever. You get actual battles and raiding but your town can still look nice after.
There is also a custom duel arena. It has a staking system kind of like RuneScape. You can challenge other players to 1v1 duels and bet items or the server currency called Rupeez. That makes fights feel way more intense.
The server is fully crossplay so Bedrock players can join too. People on phone console and PC can all play together which is awesome for friends who use different devices.
Termina says it is not pay to win. Crates and tiered gear are earned with their in game currency and ranks come from playtime and skill instead of buying them.
The world is really big with a custom 40k by 40k map and it has a live 3D view in a browser. Overall it feels like an old school style server but with new crossplay and custom features.

The server also uses discovery based warps so fast travel only works after you actually find the warp point first. It keeps the world feeling big and about exploring instead of just teleporting everywhere.
The focus is on exploring building and slowly crossing paths with other people in the same massive world while still keeping that cozy almost singleplayer feeling.
