LumaMC is a survival Towny server that tries to go a bit beyond normal servers. When I joined it felt like a place where you actually build a town and a community instead of just playing alone.
The main claiming system is Towny so you can start your own town or join someone else and even make nations. The server also has mcMMO so you level up skills and slowly become stronger just by playing.
There are custom coded items with special abilities and there is a player based economy where you gather resources produce stuff and trade with other players. You can pick jobs to earn money and try to become the richest or just use it to climb through the rank system.
They have a Hoarder plugin where you sell bulk items and the top four players in each event get rewarded. There is also a plugin called Artmap so you can make artwork on maps and show off your creativity.
The world has dynamic seasons and the time and weather follow real life in the northern hemisphere which makes the server feel more alive. There are fishing competitions with custom fish so even fishing turns into a mini game with rewards.
The community feels pretty inclusive and they want feedback from players. They have a roadmap with more content and events planned so it seems like a server that is going to keep updating instead of dying after a week.
