Halcyon is a Lands PvP server trying to feel like a real medieval world while still being on vanilla Minecraft 1.21.11. It was founded by a postgraduate medievalist and it is based in Australia. People play from Europe the Americas and Asia and it often sits around 10 to 30 players online.

The world is handmade and the server adds a few rules to make survival harder. Night cannot be skipped and healing is slow and only works under certain conditions. The point is to slow down progression and make meta play less valuable so players win by being brave working together and getting good at different roles.

There is no teleportation so travel matters a lot. Players end up building roads waystations and even secret underground railways. Crops and saplings are limited to certain biomes so trading becomes important and towns can feel different.

There is not a forced lore story. You can just start like normal Minecraft and then watch big stories happen when other players get involved. The server is built to push player made myths art books and strange superstitions as the world grows.
