Ferrum Aetheris is a modded RP SMP where the world was drained long ago by ancient builders and now it is slowly coming back to life. New races live in the ruins and you get to decide if you keep doing what the old builders did or if you try something better.
The server is very focused on player choice. Almost everything is either generated by the world or built by players. Admins are not flying around with creative and worldedit trying to force a story. You shape the world one block at a time and the history in the future is based on what players do.
Roleplay here is mostly casual and not scripted unless there is a really good reason. There is no big audience to entertain. People are just trying to have fun and tell small stories with their friends.
The modpack has around 120 mods and covers a lot of playstyles. There are mods for moving ships and machines so you can build airships trains and elevators that actually move. There are engineering mods and magic mods so redstone fans and magic fans both have stuff to do. There are custom races with unique traits and abilities plus a bunch of different metals tools and weapons if you like detailed crafting.
The world generation is also very boosted with new biomes caves mountains and structures so exploring feels fresh and different.

GildedAbyss is a new modded SMP that is all about the community and how players interact with the world. Season 1 has not started yet and the start time depends on how many people join so early players can help shape how the server feels.
The world has lots of different biomes to explore. There are more ores to find so progression feels more fun and there are new tools and weapons to craft. You can also get special items through certain ways that you have to figure out.
There are Ancestral Archetypes so you can pick a sub race in game and use its strengths. The Create mod is here too so you can build machines and contraptions as long as what you make is reasonable.
The owner really wants suggestions from players and plans to run a lot of events once the server officially begins. The whitelist is handled with a ticket system where you talk with the owner or a moderator first and if they think you fit the vibe you get added.

This is a super small chill survival server that runs on Forge 1.20.1 and it is all about modded fun with a friendly vibe.
The world is survival and they try to keep it grief free so people can actually build stuff and not worry about random destruction. Sometimes people get into funny arguments but it is more like entertainment and not super serious drama.
They use Create and a bunch of addons so you can build cool machines and contraptions instead of only basic farms. There is Herobrine to make things a little spooky. There are a lot of McCaws mods for bridges lights and furniture so bases can look really detailed and cozy.
You also get Cataclysm for tougher challenges and dungeons. Farmers Delight is there for cooking and better food. This is a modded geopolitical server where players make nations start wars and do diplomacy instead of just rushing each other.
Fights are mainly about npc soldiers using the Villager Recruits mod so it is more like strategy and army control and less about sweaty vanilla pvp. You cannot just teleport over defenses or crystal pvp or fly over walls so you actually have to plan your attacks and defenses.
The current map is based on the lands around the North Sea like Norway France and the British Isles with a middle ages vibe but you do not have to stick to the theme if you do not want to. The world gets reset when activity dies and the themes swap between historical and sci fi which also changes the modpack.
Right now the modpack has stuff like Create Farmer style mods npc recruits ships armor weapons siege machines and more so the world feels alive and detailed. You can run a big nation command armies roleplay as a famous ruler or just own a small shop inside someone else’s nation.
Claims are handled on a map run by staff so borders are clear and enforced. The server feels like it is made for people who like building stories worlds and wars that are more about strategy than who clicks faster.
