Sovereign SMP is a Minecraft world built around player politics and law. It feels like a small city where every player can try to become mayor and change how the town works.
There are weekly mayor elections. Any citizen can run a one person campaign and explain why they should be in charge. The mayor is not just for show. They can add or remove laws from an official law book and even make laws that affect certain players to keep things interesting. They can start community projects help fund player shops and set light taxes so everyone helps grow the town.
The server uses a custom currency called resin bricks. The government controls the only Creaking Heart and releases resin bricks through a central bank to keep the economy stable. The Pale Garden is turned off but pale oak saplings will still be given out so people can build with that wood type.
The world is planned to have prisons courthouses and other government style buildings so it feels alive and organized. The server is not open yet but it is launching soon so now is a good time to join if you like political style survival with laws and elections.
