The Pen MC is a classic prison server that feels like the old 2014 style. It is barebones and all about grinding and surviving. You do not get overpowered gear right away and there is no instant sell so you actually work for your money.
The main rank path goes from A to H then Parole. After you rank up you can prestige and you get to pick how you keep progressing. You can stick to the normal mining grind where you smelt ores yourself and you have to risk pvp zones to sell.
There are other paths too like a custom fishing system that can make good money per hour. There is also a mob arena with waves and boss fights where groups can earn rewards plus money and shards. If you like farming there is a bakery cookie system where you grow wheat and cocoa then bake cookies with custom mechanics and do long term cookie quests and leaderboard stuff.
The server also has parole so you can leave prison and build farms. There are guards that enforce contraband rules and illegal crops that are high risk and high reward. You can rent cells and plots and use things like auction house bounties player shops solitary confinement and parkour challenges.
It says premium stuff is not pay to win because everything you can buy can also be earned in game. The focus is on grind balance and long term progression.
