This is a community centered Java server on 1.21.11 that just launched a new season about a week ago. Season 2 started March 13th and it has been busy with lots of new and returning players.
The big focus is a player driven economy with chest shops and mcmmo. The gameplay is built around player interaction and community based play. People are encouraged to use proximity chat and to live near others in one of the server communities.

Cozy MC is a survival server that is meant to last. It is not built around constant resets. The world keeps growing over time so your builds stay and your progress does not get wiped.
It runs hard mode survival with no keep inventory. If you die you can get your death coordinates and people are quick to help.
The server has no land claims and no locked chests. That means players end up meeting each other more and trading and building together. It feels more like a shared world instead of just singleplayer with chat.

The Garden is a semi vanilla survival multiplayer server that tries to keep the normal Minecraft feeling while adding extra features that make it more fun.
It has cross play for Java and Bedrock but Java is recommended for the best experience. The rules are clear and they do not allow hacking griefing stealing or nonconsensual PvP.
The community is meant to be close knit and friendly and they shut down toxicity fast. Players are encouraged to build towns shopping areas and other community projects and there are also events for prizes. There is a Discord for chatting and the server supports the Simple Voice Chat mod.

I found a small Towny and SMP server that is meant to be friendly and relaxed but still a little competitive. The big thing here is no griefing no stealing and they say there will never be resets so you can build long term.
The community is active across AU EU and US timezones. At busy times it can hit around 20 players so it does not feel empty.
You can claim land with Towny and grow a town with other players. It also has jobs mcmmo and in game ranking plus dynmap. There are player warps player shops and a sell only server shop. It runs on 1.21.x and it also supports Bedrock on a separate port.

Waystone is a small whitelisted survival server that has kept the same world since 2 December 2025. There are no resets and no seasons and no economy so people actually settle down and build real towns.
Travel is different here because there are no teleport commands. You move around using waystones placed across the world so exploring matters and the map feels alive.
It also has skills that grow as you play with ValhallaMMO. You level up from normal stuff like mining building trading and combat. There are playtime ranks too so the longer you stick around the more you unlock.
The server uses custom plugins made for this place like binbag to clear junk and salvage to reclaim materials plus a custom rank progression system. They run weekly events and the dev work is shared so you know what is changing.
Staff actually play on the server and hang out in the towns. Deaths drop a gravestone that holds your items for hours. PvP is consent based and land claims protect builds and there is a live map you can view.

The Den SMP is a vanilla inspired survival server made for an 18 plus community. It started on March 1st 2026 and it has 20 plus members that aim to stay active and respectful. The server is whitelisted so you have to apply before you can join.
It is based in Texas in the USA and it supports Bedrock players too. The End and the first enderdragon fight open on March 14th so people are getting ready for that.
The server has a Survival Guide that acts like a hub for features. There are vanilla inclusive cosmetics plus custom tags and a leaderboard for weekly monthly and all time stats. It also runs weekly events and community events.
For safety there is CoreProtect to help with griefing and stealing problems. There is also Dynmap so you can look around for towns shops and where you want to build. There are daily tasks that reset every 24 hours and a Mobdex so you can hunt rare vanilla mob variants and fill out an encyclopedia.

ShovelCraft is a semi vanilla SMP that is all about teamwork story telling and playing for a long time. People do not rush the end game here and the world is meant to grow slowly with towns alliances and conflicts that turn into server history.
The world is split into two zones. The Green Zone from 0 to 5k is for safer play with no PvP stealing or griefing and it also has no generated structures so building and trade matter more. The Red Zone past 5k turns on PvP and allows stealing plus you can find vanilla structures out there so it feels like a dangerous frontier. Even then griefing is not allowed.
The End is disabled so there are no elytras or shulker farms and travel is more about land sea and the Nether. The world is long term with no planned resets. The economy uses diamonds and teams can level up by spending diamonds to unlock perks like more warps shared storage and more member slots. There are also seasonal competitions with lore rewards like armor trims and shulker boxes. There are no pay to win or donor perks and voice chat is optional. Version is 1.21.11.
