Spugunke is a new survival SMP that feels really community focused. It is semi vanilla and made for people who like long term worlds and playing together for a long time.
The server is all about player made towns and teams. Anyone can start a town or join one and build shared bases farms and big projects. Some teams can focus on pvp or exploring or gathering resources. You can also play solo if you want and still fit in because it supports both competitive and relaxed players.
Rules are relaxed but still fair. Griefing stealing and random killing are not allowed. Pvp is only allowed when everyone agrees first. That means town or team battles can still happen but they are organized and not just chaos.

This is a simple SMP where the whole idea is to play together and just have fun as a community. It runs on version 1.21.11 and feels like a chill place to hang out and build.
The rules are really focused on being kind to each other. You can swear a little if you rage but no slurs at all. Griefing is not allowed and you are not allowed to steal from people. You also cannot go around killing other players unless both players agree to a 1v1 or something like that.

Kindred Vale is a no grief survival server that feels really safe and relaxed. It is on Season 2 right now and they reset the world every three months so things stay fresh and new. The server is for Java players and it is all about building and exploring without having to worry about people breaking your stuff.
The community feels super friendly and focused on teamwork and respect. It looks like a place where new players and veterans can both fit in. People can team up and make cool bases or just wander around and do their own thing.

HermitiaSMP is a small survival server that feels a lot like Hermitcraft and it really cares about community and working together.
The server runs weekly events that can be in game or in real life or even art competitions so new players get pulled into the group really fast and do not feel left out.
There is optional proximity voice chat so you can talk to people who are near you in game instead of just typing all the time.

I found this Minecraft network that is pretty new and still in early launch. It is called NovaCraft Network and it focuses on fair progression and actually listening to players. It does not feel pay to win and it does not rely on weird gimmicks.
The main gamemode right now is Skyblock. It has balanced progression and a player driven economy. It seems made for both casual players who just want to chill and also for competitive players who like to grind and race ahead.

This is a small vanilla plus SMP called Lillias Goons. It just started last week so it still feels really fresh but people already have some stuff going on.
There are around 15 active players and most of them already know each other. Everyone seems pretty experienced with the game and they care a lot about farms and community projects. If you join they expect you to help with building farms and doing group builds and events instead of just hiding alone.

This is a semi anarchy Minecraft server that tries to feel like normal survival but with almost no rules. It launched on October 11th 2024 and it runs all the time on a world with a border at two million blocks.
You can join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 and they say using 1.21.10 is best so stuff does not break. The game is focused on pure survival with almost no plugins changing how the game works.
There are no map resets and no teleport commands like tpa and there is no pay to win store. Griefing is allowed and pvp is allowed so you always have to watch your back. The only real command they added is spawn so people far away do not feel stuck forever.
They also allow using the nether roof and they removed phantoms and only need half the players to sleep to skip the night. It makes the server feel a bit smoother but still pretty close to vanilla.
The rules are mostly about not ruining the server for everyone. Stuff like exploits lag machines duping and spamming are not allowed. Also you cannot harass people with racial slurs or toxic chat. So you can fight and raid bases but you still have to be somewhat respectful in chat.
