I found a small Semi Vanilla SMP that is in testing right now.
They plan to start for real in about a week. It feels like a simple survival multiplayer place where people can join early and help test things before the main start.

Forge Frontiers is a brand new whitelisted community for 18 plus players that wants a more chill modded survival place.
It runs two modded servers with All The Mods 10 and All The Mons. The ATM10 spawn is still a work in progress so it feels like you are getting in early.
Both servers have time based ranks so you actually earn them over time. There is also a player economy that is still being balanced so early players can get ahead.
They say the hardware is dedicated with good performance and room to grow. Since it is whitelist only it is meant to keep out the chaos and let the community shape things while it is still new.

I found a server called The WeaponSMP and it is a semi vanilla setup with a big focus on weapons.
It runs in phases and the first week is Phase 1 where only one weapon of each type can be crafted. Everyone is trying to end up with the most weapons and the winner gets a special weapon.
The next week Phase 2 starts and that is when custom weapons get added. The owner also wants ideas from players so it feels like the server can change based on what the community suggests.

I found Cafirexos and it is a hosting project that started in 2022. It began with free Node.js servers for developers and it has grown over time.
Now they also offer Minecraft hosting for Java and Bedrock. There are free plans if there is space and paid plans if you want more resources.
The free Minecraft plan is listed with 75% CPU 2 GiB RAM and 5 GiB storage. It says it depends on availability and it is 1 server per user.
Paid plans start at .99 USD per month and they list 100% CPU 4 GiB RAM and 25 GiB storage. They also say there is a 3 day money back guarantee if it is not what you expected.
Their current locations are Virginia for free and paid plans and Arizona for free plans only right now.
