    OnyxSMP is a survival server for 1.20.x that is about starting fresh with everybody on the same level. It is launching as soon as the community gives the go ahead so the start feels like an event.

    The vibe is simple and focused. No big complicated hub stuff and no game breaking pay to win ranks. It is built for solid performance with high render distance and minimal lag so building and redstone feels smooth.

    It is also community driven and they say they actually listen. A lot of the server choices came from votes and suggestions. If you like building redstone or a little civil chaos you will probably fit in.

    Arcamere is a new modded SMP that is all about world building and roleplay. It feels like a place where people actually talk to each other and make stuff together. Players build towns and write lore and even make conlangs. Some people draw art or write music too and there is voice chat and regular chatting.

    The mod pack is meant to make farming better and add quality of life and boost performance. It also supports artistic creativity. The world is custom and huge at 10x10k with realistic biomes so exploring and settling down feels more special.

    They also run server events and there is a meta plot with lots of chances for RP. The staff team sounds active and they listen to suggestions from the community. The server runs on Java Edition 1.21.1.

    Pastlands 1.20.1 Forge Modded SMP

    The Pastlands is a 1.20.1 Forge modded SMP that is meant to feel alive and stick around for the long run. It is built for players who like automation big builds and working with other people.

    The server runs a custom CurseForge modpack and it gets updated every two weeks. They try to keep things fresh without wrecking your progress. The pack leans into Create with extra addons plus MineColonies and a bunch of magic mods like Ars Occultism and Botania.

    Exploration is a big deal here with lots of worldgen and structure mods like YUNG type stuff. There are also storage tech decoration and other quality of life mods plus minimaps voice chat and performance mods.

    The community side seems like the main point. Staff are active and actually play. Players can suggest mods and the server tests them then adds them if it works. They also talk about polls feedback and a long term world with no random wipes.

    Gameplay has claims and protection and chunk loading. They focus on stability too since it is self hosted on their own hardware with regular maintenance and quick bug fixes. Events are planned as more players join.

    Back2Basics SMP Fair Semi Vanilla Survival

    Back2Basics SMP is a community driven semi vanilla survival server that tries to keep things fair and simple. It started in December 2023 and it is under new ownership by Theyseemelol1ng.

    It has lightweight custom plugins that keep the vanilla vibe but add some quality of life stuff. You keep your inventory when you die and you can use random teleport to find a new spot fast.

    Griefing is not the vibe here since there is a custom land claiming system. You claim with a command and you can view your claims and see the borders.

    The server has a player economy with in game currency so people can buy sell and trade. There is also a cosmetic store and rewards you can earn by playing plus a monthly voting competition.

    They run weekend events like build battles staff hunts and quests on Saturdays and Sundays. The staff and community are active and they say it is newbie friendly.

    You can join on versions 1.9 through 1.21+ and 1.21+ is recommended.
