This is a classic vanilla survival smp that is set to hard so it actually feels like a challenge. It is not packed with plugins or crazy stuff. It is just the normal game where you have to gather your tools and survive.
There are usually around ten to twenty players so it feels alive but not crowded. People are from different regions so you almost always find someone on. The players are pretty chill and like to build and explore and do random adventures together.
The world has a border of thirty thousand blocks so there is still a lot of room for big bases and small cabins. Because it is whitelisted you have to apply before you join which helps keep out trolls.

Eden is a long term Minecraft world that never resets so everything people build really matters for a long time.
The admins stay out of normal gameplay so players handle conflict and cooperation on their own. If someone causes problems or starts a war it is all solved with in game mechanics and not by staff.
There is a reinforcement system so you can make blocks doors and chests super tough. Griefing can still happen but it takes a lot of effort and risk.
The server also uses snitches that log what players do in certain areas. This lets groups collect proof instead of just guessing who did something.
There are no easy claim menus. Land is protected by planning teamwork bastion blocks and smart building instead of magic protection.
Progression comes from the environment. Ores appear as you mine and they depend on biome and height. Crops grow slow and in different ways in each biome and people use them in factories to make xp.
Factories and farms can keep running even when no one is near their chunks.
The economy is fully player run with ItemExchange. There are no server shops. Players already run shops and nations are working together on a big trade hub.
The community has been playing together in different long term worlds for almost ten years and right now the new world is fresh with a solid group online at peak times.

This server is a survival RPG world that is still being built and tested. It feels like you join super early and get to see everything grow over time.
There is RPG style survival using MMOCore and you start with only a basic class right now. Stuff is being rebalanced after early gameplay so things can change a lot.

Headrest SMP is a whitelisted survival world that is running a testing season right now. I saw it and it really feels like a mix of lore roleplay and pvp battles.
Everyone plays on an smp style server and the main focus is telling stories with your character. There is also pvp like lifesteal servers so it is not just peaceful building all the time. People will fight and make alliances and betray each other while the lore grows.

This is an anarchy style Origins server where every player has a totally different playstyle. There are over 150 different origins to pick from. Each origin is exclusive so once someone chooses one nobody else can pick the same thing. Some people might spawn in the nether. Others might only be able to live in the ocean. It makes every journey feel really different.
The server runs on Java in version 1.20.1. It is based in NA West but anyone can join. It has 24 7 uptime with constant updates and new content being added. There is voice chat so you can talk with friends or talk trash while you fight.
There are server wide events where you can buff your origin. You can reduce or nerf a downside. You can earn new weapons. You can even swap to special exclusive origins during events. I found this server called the World of Salvaris and it feels like a big storybook world.
The map is split into seven different continents because of a server side mod that changes how the terrain generates. Each season everyone focuses their builds on just one continent but you can still go explore all the others if you want.
The goal of the server is to make the world feel alive. Every player can add their own stories and builds so the world slowly fills up with different ideas. It is more about world building and storytelling and less about rushing.
