Mythvale is a worldbuilding survival server where players make the story. It is built around towns and nations where you claim land and grow from a small settlement into something huge.

MineScape is a Minecraft MMORPG server that is all about a big adventure journey and roleplay vibes. It is inspired by Old School RuneScape and it tries to feel like that kind of classic game world.
When you play you will see interactive custom NPCs and custom mobs. There are custom quests to do and a lot of skills to level. It has 22 custom skills like Attack Ranged Magic Woodcutting Mining Smithing Crafting and more.
The map is hand crafted and it looks really nice. There are clue scrolls where you solve clues for rewards. You can also get daily rewards plus pets cosmetics and titles. The server is active and it has leaderboards.

I found OakenvaleSMP and it is a survival server with a medieval theme. It is meant for people who like immersive building and exploring while still doing real survival progression.
Players can start towns and kingdoms then build castles and team up with others. There is a player driven economy and you can choose to cooperate or compete depending on your style.
The world is made to feel more interesting with quality of life plugins plus custom biomes and extra random generated structures. There are also claims and teams so people cannot wreck or loot your builds.

Atropolis is a 16 plus whitelisted Java server that feels mostly vanilla but has some nice extras. It is new and it is trying to be a community based place where different kinds of players can fit in.
Phantoms are turned off so nights are not annoying. One person can sleep to skip the night. There is a PvP toggle so you can choose if you want fights or not. There is also a web map so it is easier to see the world.
The server has anti grief protections and rollbacks. Keep inventory is on in the nether and the end which makes exploring less punishing.
It uses things like Simple Voicechat plus Elytra Trims and some fun add ons like death counter plus head drops and leadable villagers. Renewable trial vaults are also included. Voice chat and elytra trims are optional but need client downloads if you want them.
The first big event is an ender dragon fight planned for March 28. At spawn there are portals set up so you can reach the nether and even the nether roof.
