Foggy Willows is a server for people who want real vanilla Minecraft. It runs on the normal minecraft server jar with no datapacks and no plugins. The gameplay is just like singleplayer but with other people.
The server is in hard mode so mobs hit harder and you have to actually pay attention. There is no tp and no sethome so you have to travel by walking boats or nether tunnels. There is also no world border so you can go as far as you want.
There is no giant spawn with tons of signs to read. You just join and play. Players are expected to handle their own problems so if you argue with someone you work it out yourselves. You can build what you want and play how you like. Technical players are welcome too since it is always on the latest stable vanilla jar and self hosted on a strong machine.
There are no donations so there are no pay to win things. It is just a simple vanilla Java survival server with a focus on a raw and honest experience.

This server is called LavaNetwork and it is a new survival SMP that is still in beta. It feels mostly vanilla so it is really simple to understand and easy to get into.
There is land claiming so you can protect your base and builds. The people on the server seem friendly and the whole place has a pretty chill community vibe.
The world is still pretty fresh and not much is built yet. That actually makes it cool because you can join early and help shape how everything looks.

The Eternal Region is a vanilla plus server and it just started season three. The server is run on Fabric and the community seems pretty active and chill.
The server is for players who are 16 or older. It is a Java server and it has simple voice chat so people can talk while they play. There are player run events and a diverse community so you will probably meet lots of different people.
Season three goes back to a more classic community style with vanilla plus gameplay. There is also a free for all pvp twist in the End if you have pvp turned on. So you can choose if you want to fight or just stay peaceful.
You have to fully read the rules to get accepted and they really want people who respect the community. The head mod goes by eves and they are pretty active and helpful with questions. If you want a community server that is not too crazy but still has fun events this one feels like a good pick.

This server is a small hermit craft style SMP that has been running for about two months. It feels like a survival world where people like to help each other and build together.
When I joined it felt really friendly and chill. Even though the world is not brand new it does not feel like you are behind. New players can still start fresh and be part of everything.

This is a work in progress Minecraft server based on Attack on Titan with a permadeath twist. When you die you are done so every move feels really intense.
The server is built around heavy lore so it is not just random fighting. You are supposed to be part of a story and your choices matter a lot since there are no extra lives.
Teamwork is super important here. You need to rely on other players and use your survival skills to stay alive. If you run around solo you will probably not last long.

This server is trying to be like those big donut smp style worlds but in a smaller chill way. It has an economy so you can earn and spend money instead of just grinding alone.
Each player gets a 16×16 plot so you have your own little spot to build and not get in other peoples way. It feels organized but still simple.
There is a shop command so you can buy and sell stuff and it makes survival feel more like a little town world. The owner is just looking for kind players who want to help the server grow and not be toxic.

United SMP is a semi anarchy server where you can live out wild and unstable smp dreams. It looks like a place where people want real pvp and adventure not just peaceful building.

This server is a civilization event that runs in seasons and every season has a new twist. Season 4 is based on Maze Runner and that makes it feel really intense.

So this server is called Broken Crown and it is all about playing survival on a big custom Earth world. The map is made to feel like the real world and it is set up to feel like normal vanilla Minecraft.
