MCVerse is a mostly vanilla survival place that is built for long term play. The main idea is no resets so you can build huge projects and take breaks without worrying about losing everything. It is made for people who like the classic survival grind and also for people who would rather trade.
There are no custom items enchants or skills. The world is permanent and it has grief protection with claims. There is a player market and you can rank up for free just by playing. Perks are free too.
Chat is kept pretty clean with low tolerance for swearing and public chat stays focused on Minecraft and gaming. The community is international and ages range from 16 to 70 and events are mostly player driven with admin support.
There are a few helpful features like teleport and some optional quality of life stuff. Builders also get things like armor stands mini blocks and decorative heads.
You can pick from different modes like the permanent SMP a hardcore vanilla server and a vanilla testing world that runs for 6 to 12 months. There is also creative plots for experimenting. Versions listed include 1.21.10 1.21.11 and 1.21.8.

I found RevsMC and it is an 18 plus Minecraft Java SMP running the All The Mods 10 modpack. It feels like one of those servers where people actually plan to stay and build a real history over time.
The main idea is nations and groups. You can create or join a nation faction or clan and then build cities grow industry and push magic and tech progression. People also run shops set up trade networks and try to build their own economy.
Politics are a big part of it with alliances and rivalries depending on what players decide. Conflict exists but you do not have to be part of it.
PvP is opt in or opt out for players and nations so builders traders and explorers can play without being forced into fights. If groups do want conflict there is kill on sight between hostile parties and raiding is only allowed when both groups agree to raid each other.

I found a server called MCVerse that is made for long term survival and big projects. The main idea is no reset and no grief so you can take long breaks and not worry about your stuff.
It is classic survival grind with no custom items enchants or skills. You can trade with player markets to skip some grinding or you can play fully solo style like a single player world. You can rank up for free just by playing and the perks are free.
The community tries to keep chat clean and swearing is not really welcome. Public chat is meant for Minecraft topics and gaming.
There are a few different places to play. The permanent survival world is on 1.21.10 and it has things like claims a map markets clans and fishing contests. There is also a hardcore vanilla option on 1.21.10 with no grief. There is a vanilla mode on 1.21.11 with smaller claims and worlds that last about 6 to 12 months. If you just want to test builds there is creative plots on 1.21.8 and it supports litematica pasting.
Gameplay stays almost purely vanilla but there are some teleports and optional quality of life stuff. Builders also get decoration tools like armor stands mini blocks and heads. The world is big and permanent and newer generation like Pale Gardens has been added into the main world naturally. The server has been online for two years and the players are from lots of ages.

MadeiraCraft is a simple SMP that is trying to bring back that after school Minecraft feeling where you just play survival with friends and make your own little history.
It is inspired by an older style SMP with economy land claiming and clans and it is more PvE focused. The server is mainly Portuguese but it also has English translation for everything.
The playerbase is small right now with the owner friends and some random wanderers. You get one world to explore gather resources and build a home and it is meant to be no grief.
There are cool extras too like torches giving light when you hold them plus a mob arena and even a chapel at spawn. Most permissions that are usually VIP only on other servers are available to normal players and fly is the big exception.
It runs on 1.21.4 and the vibe is chill so you can just join and help make the server feel alive.
