I found a small Minecraft server that is trying to stop the usual thing where everyone runs off alone and quits fast. The whole world is split into six civilizations and each one builds a shared area together so it feels more like a group project.
When new players join they spawn in a hub where each civilization made a mini version of their style. A staff member usually gives a quick tour and shows off cool builds and ongoing projects.
It has been running for a while and there are around 15 active players so a lot of places already have history. The vibe is not rushed and people mostly hang out build together and slowly expand their areas.
It stays vanilla focused with no economy plugins no claims and no teleport commands. It does use proximity voice chat so travel and building can get pretty funny.

Skirn Worldbuilding Wars is a brand new survival world on 1.21.11 and it started on the 18th. It is a vanilla style server with a huge 50k by 50k world that can expand later and it is meant to be no resets.
The whole vibe is building up from early civilization then turning it into nations and wars. Players decide the economy and politics and the admins try to stay out of the way as much as possible.
It uses Lands for claiming and it has a custom fast travel system with sign warps so moving around can be easier when your world gets big.

I found a vanilla SMP that is trying to get active again and it is looking for players who will actually stick around.
It runs on Minecraft 1.21.11 and it is mostly vanilla but it has some terrain generation mods.
There is simple voice chat if you want it.
The Nether and the End are turned off for now so people do not speedrun everything and quit fast. They are not gone forever.
The world border is about 4000 blocks so everyone stays closer and it feels more alive.
The owner wants more builders and people who make towns and civilizations and even countries for lore instead of everyone hiding underground grinding for no reason. The server is not whitelisted yet but it will be once there are enough active players.

Realm of Thrones is a small but growing SMP where players try to build kingdoms that actually last. The whole point is nations and history. People claim land and build cities castles and trade hubs while the world keeps moving forward.
The server uses the Lands plugin for claiming and managing territory. You can form alliances and also go to war with rival empires. It feels more like strategy because your land turns into a real civilization over time.
There is an economy with player run shops and also a server shop. You can do jobs that pay you while you level skills and there is McMMO progression too. There is legendary fishing and crates and rewards.
Technology and industry are a big deal here because Minetorio components let players build automated factories. Ranks can be earned with in game money and playtime so you always have something to work toward.
They also said advanced farming is coming soon with new custom crops and extra farming mechanics so farming can be a real progression path for kingdoms.

It runs Towny so you can found a town claim land and grow your settlement over time. It also uses SiegeWar so nations can go to war and take territory.
The world is a custom map made for exploring and settling. The economy is player run so people trade resources goods and services. Politics are player driven too so alliances diplomacy and rivalries actually matter.
It supports both Java and Bedrock players. The server is launching soon and it is on version 1.21.11.

Realm of Thrones is a small crossplay SMP that stays active and keeps changing over time. It is all about building civilizations and getting involved with the community.
You can build your own kingdom and level it up as you grow. There is PvP so empires can fight and conquer. Peaceful nations can still matter too since trade and alliances can help you take on rivals.
Progress is tied to in game money and play time so you can rise through ranks and unlock more access and prestige. There are configurable tech components so players can make factories and try to become a big industry power.
There are lots of quality of life improvements and extra things to do like catching and selling legendary fish using crates and selling items in the server shop or your own shop. You can take jobs to get paid while playing and level them up and also level up McMMO. They also just added about 25 quests as a new test and more is planned later.
