I found a small survival SMP idea that is trying to stay tight and chill with a core group of about 8 to 15 players. The goal is to avoid the usual server problems like cheating and griefing and random killing and just make a place where people feel like they matter.
It is meant to be family friendly and focused on building and surviving with other creators so the server can grow together. You need to be 16 or older and have a YouTube channel and some survival and building experience. You do not need to be perfect but they want members who are good at building.
They also want people who actually play and show up at least 2 to 3 times a week. The owner is looking for players and also people who can help get the server started.
