The world has a 20000 by 20000 border and the host can change it if the players want. Voice chat is set up and working so people can actually talk while playing.

Yep SMP is a whitelisted Java survival server that tries hard to not get boring. It stays semi vanilla but every new season the community votes on one main plugin so the whole vibe can change.
Some seasons can be stuff like Lifesteal or Levels or Infuse and other strength based systems. Players can also suggest custom ideas and vote them in.
The community is small and active and it is around ages 15 and up. PvP is allowed and it feels chill but semi competitive and teamwork is encouraged with minimal rules as long as you are not toxic.
