EchelonMC is a custom survival SMP that is built for long term building and teamwork. It is not trying to be a PvP chaos server and it is not for stealing or griefing. It feels like the point is to grow a real community world that keeps moving forward.
The server runs on Minecraft Java with 1.21.11 recommended and older versions supported. It is hosted in Canada and it has been actively developed for about a month with frequent patches. It also says it has no pay to win.
A big part of the server is custom coded systems made for this world. You can create paths just by walking and you can get speed bonuses on them and it is toggleable. There is also a currency you earn by playing that you can spend on progression and useful quality of life stuff.
Land claiming looks serious with visual borders and per chunk settings plus protection options like TNT fire spread raids fluids and mob controls. You can publish public chunks so people can visit builds and you can earn rewards from visitors and climb build rankings. There are teams with invites shared utilities and team nametags plus graves and /back to help you recover items after deaths and teleports.
It also has voting rewards discord linking and a chat bridge a spawn hub with custom NPCs and utilities and anti x ray protection. The features and balance are shaped by player feedback so it is meant to change with the community.

ArcticMC is a brand new survival server that started a couple days ago and it feels like a chill place to play.
It mixes Towny and factions so you can build a town claim land make alliances or try to take territory. PVP matters here but they try to keep it fair with an honor system that is explained in their rules.
You also get McMMO skills so you level up just by playing and you can unlock special abilities when your skills get high enough. There are custom items too and they even have furniture that is entity based and they plan limits to help with lag.

Enclosed SMP is a survival server with a map that is only 1500 blocks wide. That makes everything feel closer and it turns normal survival into more of a challenge since players are packed into one small area.

I found a continuous civilization style RP server called Nations. You pick one of five kingdoms and join their society. Each nation has ranks like royalty nobles soldiers builders and citizens. The leaders are real players and they can run things like a monarchy or a council or whatever they want.
It has real consequences but it is not wipe heavy. There are no permanent bans for gameplay mistakes. Death penalties are measured in hours. Wars hit your nations economy and even the value of your currency. If your side loses your wealth can drop and if it wins your currency rises.
It also has custom systems so it is not just a vanilla SMP. Brewing is done with cauldrons and it makes magical and alcoholic potions with a timed process and rarity levels. Enchanting is timed too and stronger enchants take longer plus there are medieval fantasy style enchants.
There is a Nexus system for taxes treasury management diplomacy tracking and leader controlled economic settings. Each race has its own currency that you earn hourly and from achievements. You can trade it and exchange it and the value shifts based on how your nation is doing.
The world never resets so cities and wars and your story stay. There is lore about a united kingdom that got broken by a portal to the Void and now the future is fully player driven. It feels built for serious RP political players long term grinders and builders who want their work to matter.
