I found a server that is trying really hard to feel like real vanilla Minecraft. It is made for people who are tired of joining servers that say vanilla then hit you with annoying plugins and goofy tricks.
This one keeps it simple with no hand holding and no extra mechanics that change how vanilla works. It is also really new since it opened about a week ago so it feels like a fresh start where you can actually matter.
The big change you will notice is that chat reporting is blocked so people can say what they want. The only rule is no hacking and that means anything you cannot do on a normal vanilla client. It runs on Java 1.21.11.

Crazy Moshpit SMP is a survival server that tries to keep the vanilla vibe while still feeling fresh.
There are no land claims so you can build anywhere and people can raid anywhere too. It is meant to stay fun and not just turn into a total mess.
Java and Bedrock players can both join. There are player shops plus an auction house and duels if you want to earn money fast.
The server has custom enchants that are meant to be balanced like 3×3 drill type tools and lifesteal. The terrain is custom but it still fits the normal Minecraft look.
It runs well even on low end PCs. PvE gets harder the farther out you travel and there are random world events every 30 minutes that can help or hurt or just be weird.
The owner says they are active and keep changing stuff based on what players want.

The Fallen SMP is a scripted Bedrock SMP where people play for the story and actually act like characters. It is meant for main characters villains and anyone who wants to grind hard for the plot.
Everyone spawns with a permanent Gift potion effect like infinite speed or strength. You also get a secret Curse that is another potion effect. If you ever drink your Curse potion even on accident you get instantly banned.
There is a big gamble at spawn with suspicious stew. If you roll your Gift you get stacked loot. If you roll your Curse you are gone.
Players can steal other peoples infinite potion stashes so raids and heists matter. There is also a revive station where your team can try to bring you back by surviving five gambles in a row.
Late game there is a ritual with a netherite and gold altar and a dragon egg. It can give a third God Power with no downsides.

EchoSMP is starting season 3 and it is going semi anarchy this time. That means traps raiding and griefing are allowed so you really have to watch your back.
There are crates to open plus a boss arena and dungeons to run when you want action. There is also an afk zone if you need a quick break before things get messy again.
The world border expands every time a new player joins so the longer the season goes the bigger the world gets and the more chaos shows up. People will team up then betray each other and if you join later you might log into a total disaster.

I found a new pure survival server called DogeM and it is for Java players. It is a fresh start style server and it stays completely vanilla.
The vibe is chill friendly and also semi anarchy. People team up and you can fight and raid bases. PvP is open and even crystal fights are allowed if you grind for it. Tripwire dupers are allowed too so people can trade and get into battles.
It is locally hosted in NA and it gets really active on weekends. The world border is 50k so you have lots of space and you can still run into bases to mess with or set traps. There is a strict moderation team so players using unfair modded clients get caught fast. Admins are usually on every day.
They say there are around 30 to 50 players right now and they want more people to join and bring friends.

AnarchySMP is a newer anarchy survival server that has been around for about 7 months and it is all about pure chaos.
PvP is on and there are basically no rules so you can team up or betray people or wipe bases and grief anything you find. The world is not going to reset so long term bases and long grudges both matter.
It stays close to vanilla survival but it also has some extra stuff like TPA and homes. TPA cannot be used in the spawn area and both TPA and homes have cooldowns. Players start with up to 3 homes and ranks can add more.
There is no anti cheat so hacked clients are allowed. The server also runs on a new dedicated machine made to handle lots of players. They do regular events with prizes and even PayPal rewards and VIP and they say there are no pay to win items since ranks are cosmetics and quality of life.

I found a simple Australian anarchy server that is going for a no rules style. There is no anti cheat so people can play however they want.
It is on version 1.21.11 and the world is fresh since 01/01/2026. The player count is really small right now so it feels quiet but it could change if more people show up.
There are vote dupes and you get one voted u p e per vote and it can increase with playtime. If you want pure anarchy and you do not care about rules this one is worth a try.

The world does not reset so anything you build can last if you can keep it safe. The server is crossplay so Java and Bedrock players can play together.
The owners and staff do not jump in much. The idea is players handle their own problems. You protect your stuff by getting stronger or teaming up with allies and shaping what the server becomes.
