GOOMB SMP is a vanilla survival server that just started a new season so everything feels fresh. The world is amplified so the terrain is super tall and crazy and people are already building cool bases in the cliffs and mountains.
There is a 6k by 6k border right now so everyone has to build kind of close. It makes people team up or be neighbors and it feels like a real community. The border will get bigger later so there will be more room for big projects and new ideas.

I found this server called EternalSMP and it is a simple survival world that feels like normal Minecraft. It is vanilla style so there are no crazy plugins or roleplay stuff.
The main difference is the world terrain looks better and there are more biomes. Exploring is a big part of it and the world feels fun to run around in.
You can make a team with friends build a base and trade with other players. People can fight and even have wars if they want. You are not allowed to grief bases but you are allowed to steal loot so you still have to protect your stuff.

DeadMans Land is a classic Minecraft factions server where survival is the whole point. It feels pretty intense because everything is focused on PvP and staying alive.

This is a survival pvp server called North Survival and it just started Season 2 so it feels really fresh and new.
The server runs on Minecraft 1.21.4 and it supports all 1.21.x players. It has click villagers so trading is super easy and faster than normal. There is also rtp so you can find a new place to build without walking for a long time. You can use tpa so you can teleport to your friends and play together faster.

This server is a small hermit craft style SMP that has been running for about two months. It feels like a survival world where people like to help each other and build together.

SippyCup is a vanilla Java SMP that feels a lot like a chill Hermitcraft style world. It used to be a small private server for friends but now it is open to more players and the world was freshly restarted on 12 20 25 so everyone can start together.
The server is meant to last a long time so it is really good if you like building mega bases and super efficient farms. Players can make shops and do their own thing and sometimes add a bit of lore so it feels like a small community town.
It is 16 plus and has simple voice chat for people who want to talk while they play. There is no skill requirement and no activity requirement so you do not have to be a pro or grind every day. The rules are pretty lax but it is still whitelisted so the server stays welcoming and accepting to everyone.
There is also a Bluemap so you can look at the world from a browser and see all the builds from above which is pretty cool on a server that wants to run for a long time.

This is a survival server that feels like a long term world where people actually stick around. There are no land claims and no pay to win stuff so everyone plays fair and has to respect each other.
The server uses quality of life datapacks and plugins. There are grindable cosmetics you can work for if you want extra goals while you build bases and big projects. It gives you something fun to do between all the normal survival work.
There is a shopping district where players can make their own shops. Diamonds are used as the main money so you really want to go mining and trade with other players.
They have separate resource worlds for the Overworld the Nether and the End. These reset every three months so you can gather a lot of materials without wrecking the main survival worlds where people build.
