It is semi anarchy with minimal rules so players make the story. There are no land claims and no world resets so the map stays persistent and the world feels player driven.
People form alliances and trade and start rivalries and raid each other. Hacked clients and any mods that give you an advantage are not allowed.
There is a simple voice chat mod you can use. Griefing is banned within 1k of spawn and it is handled by active moderation instead of claims.

The Pen is a classic prison server that feels like the older days where you actually have to grind. You start with basic tools and leather armor and you work your way up through ranks from A to H then Parolee and Citizen.
The big thing here is risk. You smelt your ores and you have to walk through PvP zones to sell them at the Commissary so it is not just instant money. Swords and potions are illegal too and the Guards will fight you if they catch you with them. If you act up you can even get sent to solitary.
There are lots of ways to make money besides mining like custom fishing and growing special illegal plants in your cell for profit. You can rent a prison cell or a plot to store items build and even run your own shop. There are quests for extra cash and special items plus an auction house bounties and parkour around the prison. Arcadia is a long running semi vanilla, semi anarchy survival server focused on a barebones experience. The world runs on a fresh 1.19 map and aims to feel as close to normal survival as possible while still offering a few helpful features. Players have access to teleport commands and home setting to make travel easier, along with some light quality of life plugins that do not change the core gameplay. There is no land claiming and no grief prevention outside of the spawn area, so players are encouraged to keep their bases hidden and far away. The server allows full PvP and raiding, but hacking and cheats are not allowed. The world has a large border and runs from a North America East location for good performance and stability.
