ZaosMC is a Java Edition survival RPG server that is built to last. It feels like a place where you can actually stick around and not worry about everything getting wiped after a few months.
The whole point is long term progress. You can build a base and keep growing it over time. You can also chase bigger goals and get stronger with real RPG style progression while still keeping the survival Minecraft feel.
There is also a player driven economy. People trade items and run shops and use auction systems to earn currency. The server also says it is not pay to win which makes it feel more fair for normal players.

AdriftSMP is starting up with two different servers so you can pick how you want to play.
One server is vanilla enhanced. It has new world structure to explore and levelled mobs if you want more of a challenge. It also has an economy with player shops and auctions. You can claim land and PvP can be toggled. It also uses proximity chat with simple voice chat and has playtime rewards.
The other server is a Season 1 total PvP server. It has leader boards for kills deaths and playtime. You earn in game currency from kills and can buy kits so you can get back into fights fast. You can team up or go solo and nothing is against the rules. Teams get disbanded in the last week for a free for all event. It also has proximity chat with simple voice chat and a bounty system.
Both servers launch on 3rd April and the community helps shape things with polls and suggestions.

Avalon RPG is a survival style Minecraft MMORPG where you play as a Guardian trying to defend Avalon from darkness. It feels like a big adventure world with lots going on and it is built on top of vanilla gameplay with a huge stack of plugins.
There are 7 classes you can pick from like Warrior Mage Rogue Paladin Summoner Cleric and Marksman. The server has 6 story chapters with over 200 quests and 300 plus NPCs so there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
If you like fighting there are dungeons boss battles and 14 raid bosses with daily loot drops. You can also go for custom skills magic weapons and armor then team up with other players to raid together.
Building and social stuff matters too because it uses a Towny based kingdom system where you can join or create a kingdom. There is also crates banking auctions and a global market plus custom fishing and crafting.
The rules are simple with no griefing or stealing no scamming and be respectful and ethical with common sense.

Loop de Loop is a fresh SMP that is trying to grow a real community. It feels like normal survival but with a lot of extra stuff added on.
You can pick an elemental race like Fire Air Earth or Water and each one has its own passive effects stats and specialty items. It makes choosing your play style feel like a big deal right away.
The world is not normal either since it uses Terralith Nullscape and Structory. That means more biomes to run into and more structures to find while you explore.
There are custom mobs that still feel pretty vanilla like goblins and haunted armor plus elite mobs with special abilities that drop extra resources. They also plan to add minibosses and bosses later.
If you like upgrading gear there are over 80 custom enchantments and you can get them with the enchanter command. The server also has an economy with a shop auctions and even useful commands you can buy like workbench and disposal.
For building and safety you can claim land with a gold shovel. You can buy and sell claim blocks and also get them from voting and daily logins and your first vote gives you 100 free claim blocks.

Loop de Loop is a fresh Minecraft SMP that is trying to grow a real community. It is on Java 1.21.11 and it feels like survival but with a lot more stuff to mess with.
The big thing here is the elemental race system. You can pick Fire Air Earth or Water and each one has a passive effect plus different stats and special items. It makes everyone feel different when you are exploring or fighting.

I found a survival server called Moshpit SMP and it feels like it is trying to keep that vanilla vibe but still add some extra stuff to do.
There are no land claims so you can build anywhere and people can raid anywhere too so it stays intense and you have to be smart. It supports both Java and Bedrock so more friends can join.
It has player shops and an auction house and you can do duels if you want quick money. The server also has custom enchants that are meant to be balanced like 3×3 drills and lifesteal. The terrain is custom but it still fits in and does not look weird.
They said it runs fine even on low end PCs. The PvE gets harder the farther out you go and there are random world events every 30 minutes so stuff can help you or mess you up. The owner is still working on it and wants feedback and even people to help.

This is a modded 1.7.10 Java server built around Dragon Block C and a full Dragon Ball focus. It is a small passion project with a lot of work put into it using CNPC.
The server has an original DBZ saga story and it can change based on what players do. Forms and skills come naturally as you level and teleport points are only for stats. Teleport point scaling was changed so it scales off level instead of mind.
There is an auction and currency system plus warps and homes. Kai and Destroyer roles are community based and staff cannot take them. The community also votes on many server decisions and development.
Transformations were redone with CNPC+ and there are lots of new ones especially for non Saiyan races. Reincarnating refunds your spent teleport points as potential and you get it back over time as a multiplier to your gains.
Normal teleport point progression is replaced by sparring with other players and a custom boxing minigame. The saga gives a lot more teleport points than training but you can only do it once per day so players with less time can stay relevant.
Harassment and nsfw rules are enforced and the server opens March 27th.
