This is a chill vanilla plus modded SMP that started as a small friend group and now has an established community. It runs on Java 1.21.1 and uses the Origins mod so you can pick custom origins and play in different ways.
The server has long seasons so your builds and stories actually matter over time. There are events and polls so players get to help decide what happens next. You have to fill out a form application to join so the community stays friendly and not chaotic.
There is in game voice chat and paint mods so people can talk and be creative while they play. There are channels where players can share and promote their content if they like to record or stream.
They also have something called Soul Trade which is basically consensual heart trading between players for extra risk and fun. The server is clearly LGBT plus friendly and also welcoming to neurodivergent players so it feels like a safe and cozy place to hang out.

Headrest SMP is a whitelisted survival world that is running a testing season right now. I saw it and it really feels like a mix of lore roleplay and pvp battles.

Aserion SMP is a small peaceful server where players try to build a unified world together. The whole idea is that everyone works on each others builds and helps out instead of fighting.
The rules are really focused on being kind. Killing should almost never happen. Stealing is not allowed. Griefing is totally banned. So if you are tired of joining servers where your stuff gets wrecked this place is the opposite of that.

This is a small semi vanilla SMP called WhimsyWillow. It has a really cozy vibe and the people are pretty chill.
The world is still pretty fresh so there is a lot to explore. The border keeps expanding so new terrain keeps showing up. There are over 100 biomes so you can find tons of cool places for bases and adventures.

This server is called Ethis and it is a semi vanilla SMP that feels a lot like Hermitcraft. It runs on Fabric 1.21.10 and is hosted in Germany. The world is pretty simple and close to vanilla with no tpa commands no land claiming and no homes so you travel and live in a more natural way.
The community has been around for about five years. People there know each other well and try to be inclusive and friendly. Some players work on big builds and redstone projects. Others just mess around and play for fun. You do not need to be super good at the game you just need to be kind.
They use a voice chat mod so you can walk up to people talk for a bit and then run off again if you want. There are events and game nights both in game and in their Discord to keep people inspired and to help everyone hang out and build together.

This is a creative citybuild server with a really big custom terrain world. The main idea is to join a long lasting community and build cool cities together.
You start by applying so they can keep griefers out. After the short app you can get world edit and other helpful commands. Then you just pick a spot on the map and begin your project.
There is optional geopolitical roleplay going on. Players make claims that show up on the map and they build towns and settlements with their own stories. If you do not like roleplay that is fine. You can just focus on building and still fit in.
