Malgazar SMP is a chill survival server where people are meant to build without getting their stuff wrecked. It is pretty active and it usually has around 13 players online with about 400 overall. This server uses some QOL stuff like keep inventory and veinminer. Explosions do not destroy blocks so your builds are safer. There is also mcmmo so you can level up things like mining and sword skills. Fishing has extra rare loot too.
The world border is set to 15k and the outer End islands reset every week. A protection mod lets the owner see who interacted with blocks and undo grief fast.
The rules are strict about no griefing no stealing no scamming no cheats no x ray no seed maps and no unwanted PvP. No drama and no slurs and do not mess with peoples pets. If you break rules you can get locked in a cage for some time or get banned. Most players live near the hub around -1k -1k.

GoldspireMC is a semi vanilla survival server that is on Season 3 right now. It feels like it is made for people who want to grind and earn their stuff instead of watching someone swipe a card.
The ranks and crate stuff can be unlocked with in game money so paying is not the only way. The economy is run by players with shops and warps so trading and selling is a big part of the server.
You can play on Java or Bedrock which is nice for friend groups. It also has Discord chat connected so people can talk even when they are away.
The Nether and the End have a locator bar enabled so PvP can happen more and it is a high risk high reward vibe. Staff are active and they have rules against scamming and TP trapping so it stays fair.
