Proximity voice chat makes councils and border talks feel intense. War can happen but it is not forced and there are no nukes or magic shortcuts. The server also has vehicles for civilian travel and military power is kept under state control.
Lore exists in the world and it can be found lost or stolen. Admins stay hands off unless someone is cheating or using exploits. The big idea is that history is not reset so your choices stick around.
