Even though there is plenty of griefing, stash raiding, double crossing, withers, back stabbing, portal traps and PvP there is also a friendly community of players who leave kits around spawn and help new players get started… or kill them. You never know for sure. Spawn area is heavily damaged but not impossible to escape and trees and animals can be found within 300 blocks of zero zero.
