Farmlands is a small whitelisted SMP that feels really cozy and relaxed. It is made for people who like survival but also like to build nice bases and farms and just hang out.
The server is mostly vanilla with some small quality of life tweaks. It is not pay to win and griefing is not allowed so your builds and farms are meant to last a long time.
The world is planned to be long term so it is a good place if you want to settle down and work on big projects or just chill and explore with other players.
The community is pretty tight knit and active and new players join through a simple application on their Discord so everyone there actually wants to play together and be friendly.

This is a Minecraft server called Split SMP and it runs big civilization style events.
Every month or two they start a new season with a different twist. For Season 4 they are doing a Maze Runner inspired event. Players get split into four different teams and the whole thing happens over 7 days so it feels really intense and fast.
In past seasons they had around 150 to 250 players and now they are trying to hit 500 players for this season. Over 200 people already applied so it seems pretty active and busy.
If you like team events and short seasons where a lot happens in one week this server is made for that. It feels like everyone joins for the event and goes all in for the whole season.

CaveMC Season 2 is a semi anarchy survival server where the whole overworld is underground. There is no surface at all. Everything is caves and tunnels with custom world generation made by real Minecraft developers.
When I joined it felt really intense because survival is brutal and you have to be smart to live. The underground world still has biomes resources and structures but it all feels squeezed together in one huge cave only universe.
The server is enhanced vanilla so it still feels like normal Minecraft but with way more challenge. Players can fight or just try to survive and explore but there are not many protections so you have to watch your back.
There is also a new thing called the Wasteland Dimension. It is a big custom dimension with its own map mega structures and mysteries to explore. In there you can find brand new powerful gear and a unique currency that creates a new player economy and trade.
Season 2 also has a new spawn that matches the Wasteland theme and sets up the fresh start for everyone. If you like tough survival underground bases and risky adventures this server is made for that.

Dawnpeak is a new SMP survival server that just opened and the world still feels fresh and untouched. It uses hard difficulty so the game actually feels dangerous and every mistake can really hurt.
The server tries to make survival feel like a story. There is slow and meaningful progression so every upgrade feels like you actually earned it instead of rushing to end game. There are custom mobs and big boss battles that are way more intense than normal vanilla fights.
You can talk with other players using proximity voice chat so you only hear people who are near you. It makes random meetings and team ups feel really cool and also kind of scary.
There are lots of custom craftable items like weapons gear tools blocks furniture and decorations that you discover through their own recipes. The world is built for exploration with custom structures hidden regions mysterious dungeons and special encounters if you like to wander.
The server also has Towny and an economy. You can start a town or clan make allies or rivals trade with people or end up in big battles between groups. There is no pay to win at all so you cannot buy kits or unfair boosts and everyone has to earn their power by actually playing.

The server feels like a chill place where people just want to play Minecraft together and hang out. It is survival so you mine build and explore with other players.
I like that it is crossplay so you can join from computer or from your phone or console if it supports Bedrock. You do not need to worry about ports on Java and Bedrock uses the usual one.

This server is running the Ultimate Survival World map and it feels like a big adventure world that is already set up and ready.
When you join you first go into the Minekeep lobby and then after a short wait you get sent to the actual map. The server is stable and always ready for new players so you can just hop on and start playing survival.
It is mainly about exploring and surviving in the USW map with other people online. There is no extra info about rules or special modes so it feels like normal multiplayer survival but on a custom world.

Ridge SMP is a Minecraft server that just started season 5 on December 23rd 2025. It is a modded server using a modified version of Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG modpack.

This is a survival server where events actually change the main world. If you lose an event the world border can shrink and suddenly your base might be stuck outside. So every event matters a lot and everyone feels it.
There are two worlds. One is for normal survival. The other is the custom event world. What happens in the event world will affect the survival world. Sometimes borders move. Sometimes rare items show up. Sometimes everyone wins or everyone loses.
The server feels really community based. Players are pushed to team up plan and cause a bit of chaos together. It is not just solo grinding. You work with other players and your choices decide what happens to the whole world.
The server supports Java and Bedrock on version 1.21.9. There is no player cap so there should always be room for more people.

Nova Network is opening a new SMP really soon and it looks different from the usual servers I see.
The server has custom mobs that make survival feel more intense. There are quests and daily quests so you always have something to do instead of just mining and building forever. You can level up skills and there is a custom battlepass and jobs so you can progress in a bunch of different ways.
They use in game voice chat so people can actually talk while they play which makes it feel more like a real community. The server supports both Java and Bedrock so a lot more players can join and play together.
There are already over 200 people in their community getting ready for launch and they are still growing. They are also looking for staff before the server goes live so if you want to help run a new SMP this looks like a good time to start on day one.
