AvalonEarth is a cool earth SMP server with a 1 to 500 scale world map so there is a lot of space to explore and make your own nation. It uses the Towny plugin so towns and nations are a big part of how you play.
Anyone can start a nation because the server gives you starter money. You do not need to grind for hours or meet some weird player requirement just to claim land. You can jump in and begin your own country pretty fast.
The server has already had one season that made a strong community. Now it is on the second season and a bunch of new players are joining so it feels active and alive.
There are a lot of wars and conflicts if you like fighting and strategy. But if you are not into pvp you can also live more peaceful and stay away from most wars.
You make money mainly by doing jobs and by farming and fishing. The server owner says more ways to make money are going to be added soon.

This is a semi vanilla survival server that feels really focused on community and building cool stuff together. It is not a crazy hard server but it is true survival and you do not get keep inventory so you still have to be careful.
