I found a semi anarchy Minecraft server that is trying to keep survival feeling like real Vanilla. It started on October 11th 2024 and it is hosted in New York City. The world is meant to last since there are no map resets.
You can join on Java from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11 and they recommend 1.21.10 to avoid issues. The world border is huge at 2 million blocks so you can travel far and still find space.
PvP and griefing are allowed and there is no pay to win. There is no teleporting and the only command they allow is /spawn so people far out can get back to civilization. Nether roof access is allowed. Phantoms are removed and only half the players are needed to skip the night.
They still block some stuff like exploits lag machines duping spamming and harassment or racial slurs in chat.

It is based in Texas and it also has a Bedrock port. The goal is long term survival with a relaxed drama free place where adults can build explore and just talk while they play.
Most stuff is handled through an easy Survival Guide. You can find vanilla friendly cosmetics custom tags and leaderboards for weekly monthly and all time stats. There are weekly events plus community events.
It also has protection tools like CoreProtect to help with griefing or stealing. You get Dynmap to scout areas and look at towns and shops. There is an optional geopolitical roleplay part with lore and worldbuilding. You can mark a claim and it gets shown on the map so your story can start. You can also mark towns and settlements if you want. If you do not care about roleplay you can just build and ignore it.
To get in you join the Discord first and do a short application that is mostly there to stop griefers. After you are approved you can earn access to WorldEdit and other helpful commands.
