This is a small Java SMP that stays close to vanilla and is all about building with long term plans. People here like big projects and hanging out while they play.
It is mainly adults only and it aims for a chill social vibe. You will see players in voice chat and also in game with proximity chat.
There are a few classic tweaks that do not mess with the normal challenges. Stuff like extra mob heads and player heads armor stand posing simple voice chat and a Discord to Minecraft chat link.

Bramble SMP is a modded Java roleplay survival server where you make a character and decide who you become. You can lean hard into roleplay or just play it like a normal SMP with building farming and exploring.
The vibe is medieval fantasy and the world has ongoing lore. You can build a small farmstead or try to grow a huge kingdom. Players can make towns form alliances and even start wars if that is the story they want.
It also has a currency system so people can trade open shops and hire others. Land claiming is there too so you can protect what you build. The server is whitelist only and you get in by submitting a character.

I found Konohaven SMP and Season 5 just started and it is trying something new. It is a semi vanilla Java survival server on hard difficulty.
This season the players get to make a lot of the big choices. Stuff like spawn plans shopping areas and roads are meant to be decided by players. People can form committees or run solo and argue it out with builds.
There is no set world border. Chunks will be generated out to 1500 at the start to help with early lag and after that you can explore as far as you want. The seed will be public and the world generation is being tweaked to add new vanilla style features.
It has single player sleep and a live map. Simple Voice Chat is optional and you do not need mods to join. Blaze and Caves Advancements are on with less chat spam. There is also an optional origins datapack and the origin choices will be explained before you pick.

HighTide SMP is a brand new 18+ survival server that is trying to build a tight crew where people actually talk and connect.
It is whitelist only so you have to apply and they focus on trusted players. The server supports both Java and Bedrock so you can join from pretty much any device.
They run game nights and movie nights plus event nights and drinking nights. There are plugins like graves so your stuff is not lost forever and tree chop to make getting wood faster. There is also Dynmap so you can view the world online.
CoreProtect is used to stop griefing and chest refill helps keep loot moving since chests refill after 5 minutes. PvP can be toggled so you can duel when you want.

The server runs on version 1.21.11 and it supports Java and Bedrock together. The map is a custom world made for exploring settling and building up civilizations. The economy is player run so you trade resources goods and services with other people.
