CrabCraft is a pure vanilla SMP that keeps the game simple and survival focused with a few quality of life features. It is inspired by HermitCraft so it feels like a server where people build big and stick around.
It has Simple Voice Chat built in so talking in game feels normal and you do not have to tab out all the time. People here do group projects and help each other and it works for mega builders and redstone players too.
The community is tight and chill and the Discord is active for planning events and sharing what everyone is working on. The server is whitelisted to keep random griefing out and they also do regular automatic backups with per chunk rollback protection.
Last season they said over 200 players joined and the server hit 17520 plus hours of playtime so it sounds busy and established.
New Dawn SMP is a vanilla survival server that is community driven and focused on building exploring and creating together. It is whitelisted and meant for players who want a relaxed but still ambitious place to play.
Season one is close to the end and the world started on Nov 8th. They are letting in a few new players to join the finale and leave something behind before the reset.

Deadmans Land is a survival multiplayer server where it feels like everyone is a threat. The whole vibe is ruthless and you are expected to fight for everything you keep.
PvP is always a big deal so random encounters can turn into life or death. Raiding is fully allowed so people can break into bases and take what they want.
Griefing is not restricted either so if you build something and cannot defend it then it might not last. Players try to outsmart each other with hidden bunkers big compounds and traps.
It also says there are active admins and it is not pay to win. The server pushes skill strategy and taking over territory while dealing with betrayals.
Lord of the Kaisen is a PvP heavy Minecraft server built around the JujutsuCraft Sorcery Fight mod on 1.20.1. This is Season 2 so it has a fresh map with refined rules and more stuff to do.
It runs the full mod with extra addons so there are lots of cursed techniques domains summons and character style movesets. The big thing here is a custom Culling Games system where kills let you unlock special rules and upgrades. Some upgrades change how you fight and some can even do temporary rule changes.
If you die a lot it can start random teleporting you to other players which makes things way more stressful. There is also a The Strongest title with a colored name and you have to defend it in best of 5 1v1 fights.
As the world power levels go up they run weekly Nexus Games with randomized teams. They also do Capture the Flag and King of the Hill type events plus bannerhunt area control and battle royale.
Kills get verified using player heads for bigger spends so it is harder to fake kills or farm. Progress is skill based PvP and it is not pay to win. The community is small active and tight knit and more about fighting and events than griefing.
MineRealm is a public SMP server that has been online since 2010 and a lot of players have joined over the years. It feels like a long term survival world with people who actually stick around.
The server keeps things legit with no pay to win and no item spawning. It stays close to vanilla but it also has a few custom plugin features meant to help the community and make survival last.
The map is smaller and it expands over time. New land generates in the latest Minecraft version so you still get updated terrain as the world grows.
Builds are meant to be safe here since the server uses a classic plot system and grief protection with CoreProtect. There are no world resets so what you build can stay for the long run and players have made the world without prefab hubs.
