The main idea is making your own nation and building it up. You can create towns and grow your story or you can join one of the nations that already exists.
Movecraft is the big plugin here and it lets players build vehicles out of blocks like ships planes tanks and submarines. That means fights can get huge with ship battles and air battles and it adds a whole new layer to warfare.
It also has Brewery X plus lands guns a stock market and shops. The server is not only about conquering though since it is focused on worldbuilding and making a shared history with the community. I found a small Minecraft server called the Island Kingdom of Aloria and it is set on two big volcanic islands with a worn tropical beach village vibe.

I found a server where everyone is basically living underground now. There are 16 custom armor sets and each one takes a huge amount of raw ore to make. People log in and just mine for weeks like it is their whole life.
The armor is actually wild. Some sets give night vision underground. Some give haste that keeps building the longer you mine in one direction. Some make mined blocks go straight into your inventory. One even helps crops grow faster just by standing near them.
