GOOMB SMP is a vanilla survival server with amplified terrain and it feels really cool.
The world just reset about three weeks ago so players are still making new bases and projects. There is a 6k by 6k border so everyone is kind of close together which makes the world feel busy and alive. The border will expand later so there will be more room for big base ideas.
The community hangs out a lot on discord talking in chat and in voice calls. People share screenshots of the crazy amplified terrain and they talk about shop plans trades and deals. It feels like everyone is trying to build something together not just play alone.
The server has clear rules. No racism or hate speech. No NSFW stuff. Be respectful and keep things drama free. No griefing stealing or unconsented pvp. Players are expected to be mature and use common sense.
To join you have to apply first then the staff will look over your application and decide if you can join. After that you get whitelisted and can hop into the world.

Ordinary SMP is a vanilla Java server that feels like a small friendly world where everyone actually knows each other. It is whitelisted so the players are usually chill and just want to build explore and hang out.
The server runs on the latest 1.21.11 version so you get all the new features while still staying fully vanilla survival. People work together on community projects and big builds and you can also just go off and make your own base if you want.
There is grief protection using Ledger so staff can check what happened if something gets griefed or stolen. That makes it feel safer to build big stuff because you know they can investigate.
The server has BlueMap so you can look at the world on a live map. There is Simple VoiceChat support so you can talk in game and AudioPlayer for custom audio. They also have dragon elytra drops so beating the dragon is extra worth it.
Ordinary SMP uses a custom resource pack with special cosmetics trophies and event rewards that match a HermitCraft inspired style. Players can even suggest ideas for new custom items which makes the server feel more community driven.
There are server wide events like pvp battles build contests and big community projects so there is usually something going on. The whole vibe is survival focused friendly and meant to be a long term home for builders explorers and redstone fans.

This is a survival server that feels like classic Minecraft. It was made in 2020 when the owner and their friends could not find a simple server without tons of plugins and weird land claiming. Now the old friend group is mostly gone but a new core community has grown and kept the world alive.
The server runs hard difficulty and has no land claiming. People are expected to respect each other instead of hiding behind claim plugins. There is an item based economy and a few quality of life features but nothing crazy that changes how the game works. It feels pretty close to normal Minecraft with just enough tweaks to make life easier.
The community is the big focus. Players come from all over the world like Australia Europe and North America. The staff team is small and hands off so people can just play and not feel watched all the time. The hardware is solid and there is an active Discord so it is easy to talk and find people to play with.
There is a zero tolerance rule for griefing hacking and hate speech. If you are toxic or try to ruin the world you are not welcome. If you just want to chill build and survive with others you will probably fit in really well.

This is a modded Minecraft server called Chaos and Magic Edition on version 1.20.1 and it feels like total mayhem in a good way. The whole world is about chaos and magic and the server wants you to tame it or get wiped out.
You get to fight huge bosses and creepy monsters and crazy creatures from mods like Ice and Fire. Some mobs are just there to ruin your day and others really test how good you are at fighting.
The modpack is made for people who want wild gameplay and random challenges and also a lot of cool magic. You can tame weird creatures and craft strong magic stuff and try to survive when everything around you is going nuts.
It is set up as a multiplayer server so it is more fun with friends. Players can team up to beat dragons and build big magical bases or just try to live through the chaos together.

Bone Voyage MC is running a big fishing event called Fisherman's Folly. The whole goal is to catch as many custom fish as you can before the event ends on January 12th 2026.
Each fish type gives points. Legendary fish give the most points then epic then rare then common. Even junk is worth a tiny bit. Normal vanilla fish do not count at all so everyone is really focused on the special custom ones.
To enter you fill up your chests with all your catches then take a screenshot and post it in the event submissions channel with your in game name. Once you submit you cannot change your chest or your submission. If you move stuff around or add more later it will not count.
The prizes are pretty crazy. First place gets a special Master Baiter title a huge amount of money and rare pearls and spawner fragments. Second and third place also get money pearls and fragments plus event points. The staff says they will need to audit everything so winners might take a bit to announce.
The server feels like a survival rpg style place that really likes custom items and fun weekend events. It seems good if you enjoy grinding for loot and competing on leaderboards but still want a chill vibe.
