Lounge SMP is a semi vanilla survival server that feels really calm and relaxed. It is made for long term play so you can build your base and not worry about resets.
The players here care a lot about community and creativity. People just hang out and build and explore at their own pace. It is not about rushing or flexing. It is more about chilling with others.
There is a simple economy that is easy to understand. You can trade and sell stuff without it getting super complicated.

This server is called Split SMP and it is all about big civilization events that come back every month or two months. Each season they add a new twist so it never feels the same twice.
Season 4 is based on Maze Runner and it is built around four different teams battling it out over a full week. The whole event lasts 7 days so it feels like a real time challenge and not just a quick minigame.
Past seasons have already pulled in a lot of players and they are trying to hit 500 people this time. Over 200 players already applied so it seems pretty active and busy.
The server feels like a big organized event where you join a side and try to help your team win over the season.

GlowySMP is a brand new semi vanilla survival server that is whitelisted so it feels safe and cozy. The community is really friendly and griefing is not allowed so your builds actually stay there.
The server uses an in game economy with money and there are player warps and player shops so people can make their own little markets. There are landclaims so you can protect your base and there are community events that keep things from getting boring.
There are extra systems like PyroFishing and jobs plus a separate resource world for gathering materials. PvP is toggleable so you only fight when you want to. There are mobcatchers crates and ranks and a bunch more stuff to discover once you join.
Overall it feels like a relaxed survival world with some cool plugins and a small community that actually cares about playing together.

This is nLnR also called No Laws No Rules and it is a real anarchy server. There are no rules at all and players can do anything they want. Hack clients are allowed. Griefing is allowed. PvP is everywhere.
The server feels rough and crazy. Spawn used to be a village but now it is totally destroyed and looks like a wasteland. If you join you should run far away from spawn. The farther you go the safer you will be from other players.
The recommended version is 1.12.2 and it is only for premium accounts so you need to actually own the game to play. You can still join on newer or older versions too.
If you want a place where nobody will protect you and there are no safe zones this server is made for that. It is just pure anarchy and survival against everyone.

This server is called PlainSMP and it is starting Season 2 right now. I think it is for people who just like simple Minecraft and want to play with others without a lot of crazy stuff.
It is pure vanilla survival on Java 1.21.11 and they do not use pay to win or a bunch of random plugins. The whole point is to just play survival and enjoy the normal game together.
They are a small group but they sound really passionate and they want new players who actually like playing Minecraft a lot. People are encouraged to use proximity voice chat if they want to talk in game and hang out.
For Season 2 they changed things so now PvP between players is allowed. They want it to feel more like real survival and not just a super safe community world like last season.
You have to apply to get whitelisted and the applications are done through their Discord.
