AlkalineCraft is a new beta factions server that tries to make Minecraft feel fun again. The server is mostly custom scripted and focuses on factions pvp mining progression and a clean economy that connects to ALK.
You can make your own faction invite your friends rank your members and fight other groups for power. There is an outpost style pvp area where factions fight for control and earn power so it is really about who can work together and win battles.
The mining system is called ALK Mining. Every block you mine builds up your balance. At the end of the season you can use the withdraw command to pull out your ALK on pump dot fun. So mining actually matters a lot and not just for gear.
You can set homes to save your base and use commands to go back to spawn or teleport into the wilderness or check help. The server is still in beta so they are adding stuff like lucky mining events special items leaderboards and more little features.
The owners want people to test find bugs and give feedback so the full release can be better. Java and Bedrock players can both join so the community can be mixed and more active.

This server feels like an old school vanilla world that never really stopped. The world started in 2011 so you can find really old terrain and ruins and then run into newer areas if you explore far enough. Spawn is in an ocean biome so you have to swim or use a boat just to even find land which makes the start feel like a little adventure.
The gameplay is mostly pure survival with just a few datapacks that make life easier. You can set homes with triggers and warp back to spawn and you can have up to 10 homes. There is nothing extra that changes terrain or adds crazy items. Sometimes player heads and mob heads can drop when you fight which is fun to collect.
The community is a small group of long time friends and most players are in their mid twenties or older. People are mostly from the US with some Russian and Polish speakers too. The rules are super simple. Treat people with respect and do not try to crash the server. Besides that almost anything is allowed so griefing and hacked clients are okay if you still respect others.
The server is always running the newest Minecraft snapshot so you get new features right away. It feels relaxed and unstructured and it is good if you just want to play classic survival with a world that has a lot of history already.

This is a hardcore Minecraft server where you really only get one life. If you die you are done. There are no second chances.
The server is true vanilla survival so it feels like normal Minecraft but way more scary. There is no pay to win and there are no resets and no alts. When you join it is just you and your one life.
Rules are super simple. No cheating. Griefing is allowed and PvP is allowed so other players can and will attack you. That makes every base and every trip outside feel risky.

This is a semi vanilla SMP called Crafted Survival where the server is all about chill survival and community. The gameplay is focused on PvE so you do not have to worry about getting griefed.
The server uses a diamond based economy which is pretty cool because you trade and shop using diamonds instead of just random money. There are player shops and a shop GUI so it is easy to browse or make your own shop.
You can claim land using golden shovels so your builds stay safe. There are separate resource worlds so the main world does not get wrecked when people go mining.
There is a live world map you can view in your browser so you can see what the world looks like from above. You also get ranks and vote rewards just by playing and voting so you slowly unlock more perks over time.
The community feels friendly and they run weekly events so there is always something to do and people to talk to. The server works on both Java and Bedrock so pretty much any platform can join.

Nova Network is opening a new SMP really soon and it looks different from the usual servers I see.
The server has custom mobs that make survival feel more intense. There are quests and daily quests so you always have something to do instead of just mining and building forever. You can level up skills and there is a custom battlepass and jobs so you can progress in a bunch of different ways.
They use in game voice chat so people can actually talk while they play which makes it feel more like a real community. The server supports both Java and Bedrock so a lot more players can join and play together.
There are already over 200 people in their community getting ready for launch and they are still growing. They are also looking for staff before the server goes live so if you want to help run a new SMP this looks like a good time to start on day one.

This is a real vanilla smp that actually stays vanilla. It does not turn into a plugin mess or some weird mod pack dump after the first day.
The owner wants a community of players who put time into a real survival world. People join because they want the normal survival experience the way Mojang made it.

DeadMan's Land is a Minecraft server that is all about classic factions and survival. It feels like one of those worlds where only the strongest players last more than a day.
On this server you make factions and build up your own empire. You can team up with friends or find new allies. Then you go raid other players and fight to take over their land.
The server has custom events and the pvp feels balanced so it is more about skill. There is a lot of fighting and it really is kill or be killed. If you like that kind of ruthless survival then this server fits you.

This server is a nation called Grand Empire and it is based on feudal Japan. It is on an SMP called Ruby and it does not use mods.
The Empire is all about discipline and hierarchy and imperial order. You join one of the legions and serve in your own way. There are Imperial Guards that protect the Emperor and keep the laws. There is the Royal Legion that is like the elite force. There is the Iron Legion that is the main army of the Empire.
The legions are all recruiting right now because this nation is new. That means it is easier to get in and rank up. If you join early you have a better chance to rise through the ranks and earn respect.
You can build bases and castles and settlements that match the style of your legion. There is a rank structure so you can progress by helping the Empire. Players do missions and ceremonies and live in an organized Empire style.

This is a small SMP that just started a new world a few days ago. There are only around ten people on at the busiest times so it feels pretty chill and not crowded.
Everyone is just getting to know each other and the vibe is super relaxed and respectful. It feels easy to talk to people and just play and do your own thing without drama.
