I found Aelythera and it is a 16+ Minecraft roleplay server that is relaunching April 1st. It is built around meeting new people and doing planned events while you play your character.
The story starts in a normal world called Koriam with different regions and cultures and some steampunk technology. Then a thing called The Great Vanishing happened and people disappeared. Now it is happening again and you get taken too.
You end up in a new world with magic and ancient ruins from an older civilization. Your old life in Koriam does not matter anymore and you have to start over. A big part of the server is discovery like finding your new power and figuring out your new home.
You can spend time researching the world or trying to recreate the technology you lost. Making new inventions is meant to be hard and even making the tools you need can be difficult.
