I have been playing for about a week and it has been fun just roaming and building stuff with people. I helped the owner build a northern highway from spawn out to virgin land.

Durian SMP is a really new survival server that has only been around for about a week. It has a small group of around 14 consistent players so it feels close and active without being crowded.
The gameplay is mostly vanilla and it has a few helpful tweaks like graves so your stuff is safer and a shop plugin so players can trade with each other. People will help you get started and set up a base but nobody is just handing out max gear.
The admin uses logging and rollback tools to protect players. If something gets taken and you can show proof like logs or screenshots they will help return items that were wrongfully taken.
Rules are taken seriously. PvP is only if both players agree. Stealing and griefing can get you warned or banned based on how bad it is. No slurs or hateful words in chat voice or Discord. Cheating is an instant ban and duping is handled with strikes.

PurpleSMP is a small survival server made for people who want to chill build and play on a newer Minecraft version without stressing about griefers or cheaters.
It uses land claims so your stuff can stay protected. Every block placed or broken is logged and staff can check it. Your inventory also gets backed up when you join leave or die so they can restore things if you lost them because someone broke the rules.
There is mcMMO so grinding resources feels like progress with skills. The economy is fully player made with no shops and no currency so trading is up to the community.

Overgrowth MC is a semi vanilla server that feels like an RPG. It adds a ton of new stuff like custom items custom mobs and spells so you always have something to discover. You can power up with custom weapons and armor then go after dangerous creatures and dungeon bosses.
If you want a calmer life you can build your own town and stay protected from the world outside. If you want drama there is PvP too with duels wars and other fights.
